When DanDaDan first burst onto the manga scene, it almost immediately became a huge hit. Then the anime came out in 2024 and combined both the weird shonen action that we’ve been craving with some of the most heartbreaking storylines we can remember. It has action, comedy, and romance in nearly equal measures. If you’re hoping to get caught up with the manga, our DanDaDan release schedule will help you.

Normally, new chapters of DanDaDan come out every week on the Shonen Jump+ website in Japan. Overseas, you can find the newest DanDaDan chapter on the Shonen Jump app or on the Viz Media website. New chapters of DanDaDan come out on Mondays in Japan. There are occasional hiatuses that hit the manga, but the weekly schedule has stayed pretty consistent since the manga debuted in April 2026.

Now, we’ve said that DanDaDan usually has a weekly release schedule, but that doesn’t mean that breaks don’t happen. DanDaDan 231 came out on April 6, 2026, but the manga went on a brief hiatus following this chapter. DanDaDan 232 is due out on May 4, 2026 and will mark the continuation of the current arc in the story.

Looking for the next new episodes of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D.? NBC’s One Chicago lineup returns April 22, 2026, with all three shows airing back-to-back. Here’s the full schedule, episode details, and how to watch.

One Chicago takes over NBC primetime on Wednesdays, with all three shows of the franchise running consecutively, beginning with Chicago Med, then Chicago Fire, and finally Chicago P.D. The next episodes of the One Chicago shows will air April 22:

During the network broadcast year (Mid-September through Mid-May), the shows air essentially weekly with occasional breaks in programming for holidays and special events. Traditionally, all three One Chicago shows — Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. — air new episodes on the same night, starting and ending their seasons simultaneously and remaining in synch throughout.

Amazon MGM’s supernatural series FROM returns April 19 on MGM+, ending an anxious wait for new episodes. Creeping out of the forest, the season promises to reveal some of the core mysteries about the town everyone is trapped in, but what time do new episodes come out, and when can you watch them? We’re here to tell you when the new episodes will drop - and what they're called - with a full release schedule.

FROM Season 4 debuts 9pm Eastern, 8pm Central on April 19, 2026. New episodes will follow weekly at the same release time every Sunday through June 21.

One of the popular new manga coming out on the Shonen Jump app and on the Viz Media website is Phantom Busters, which follows a group of young people focused on fighting ghosts while also trying to be normal high school students. However, the Phantom Busters release schedule, at least in English, is a little difficult to follow. If you’re already caught up with the Phantom Buster chapters you can read online and are looking for more, here is what we know about the manga’s release schedule.

Like many manga, Phantom Busters follows a monthly release schedule. New chapters are released in Jump Square magazine. Though the exact release date for each chapter changes, this is typically in the first week of the month before the magazine is dated. For example, Phantom Busters Chapter 30 came out in the May 2026 issue of Jump Square, which was sold in Japan starting on April 3, 2026.

The most recent chapter of Phantom Busters was 30, which came out on April 3, 2026 in Japan. Aside from a short break in early 2026, most months see a new chapter of Phantom Busters come out, so we suspect that more will arrive in Japan regularly for the rest of the year. The end is nigh for Billy, Hughie, and the rest of The Boys, with the final season of Prime Video’s superhero satire now streaming on the Amazon platform. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the first Spider-Man film since the end of Tom Holland’s ‘Home’ trilogy, and the first without director Jon Watts. But the story picks up after Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Doctor Strange’s memory spell erased Peter Parker from everyone’s lives. As Peter deals with the fallout, what does it mean for his future in the MCU? Here’s everything you need to know about the No Way Home ending and what it means for Brand New Day.

Spider-Man: No Way Home ends with a climactic battle at the Statue of Liberty. Spider-Man teams up with his multiversal doppelgangers (Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprising their old roles) to take down the Green Goblin, Electro, Sandman, Doctor Octopus, and Lizard. The Spideys are able to cure the villains, and Doctor Strange prepares to send them home.

However, a multiversal rift soon opens, threatening to send more Spider-Man villains to their Earth. Spider-Man realizes that the only way to close the rift is to cast a spell erasing everyone’s memories of Peter Parker. This includes Ned and MJ, who aren’t onboard with the plan. Peter promises his friends that he will find them and make them remember everything. Strange casts the spell, which sends all the villains and the other Spider-Men home. Weeks later, Peter Parker finally approaches MJ, but seeing how happy she is causes him to change his mind about telling her about their past.

Did you have that inseparable childhood friend? The person that always seemed attached to your hip for years, who shows up in all your stories before they get replaced by an eldritch horror from the cursed mountain that overlooks your village? Okay, that last bit might be specific to The Summer Hikaru Died. With the anime getting a second season, you might want to get caught up on the manga first. Just be warned that the release schedule for The Summer Hikaru Died is a bit unusual.

While The Summer Hikaru Died manga has had a handful of hiatuses over the years, new chapters generally appear once a month on the Young Ace Up website, with a same-day English release on several sites. However, the unusual thing about this release schedule is that the chapter doesn’t come out all at once; typically, sections of the new chapter appear in three chunks on the Young Ace Up website in Japan. After the final part of the chapter is published, the manga usually goes on a one-week break before the cycle repeats itself.

The most recent chapter of The Summer Hikaru Died was released  April 14, 2026. We expect Chapter 46.2 to be released April 21, with 46.3 released a week after that, with a one-week break before Chapter 47 starting its release schedule. However, that can change quickly, so we’ll keep an eye out to see when the schedule changes.

The world fell in love with Krypto the Superdog when he made his live-action debut in James Gunn's Superman last year. As adorable as Krypto is, he also proved himself to be a pretty problematic dog, destroying parts of the Fortress of Solitude and being unable to contain his own prey drive. But that's okay, we still love him anyways. 

We'll next be seeing Krypto in this summer's Supergirl movie, and already, with the release of the film's official trailer, DC fans are stressed about the fate of Krypto. As can be seen in the trailer, the villainous Krem of the Yellow Hills shoots Krypto and incapacitates him, sending Kara on a crusade to save both her dog and a young girl named Ruthye. Now the question remains: would DC Studios really kill off Krypto in Supergirl? Since I myself have used the website "doesthedogdie.com" to look up whether or not an animal dies in a movie before I go see it, I can certainly understand why you, dear reader, are reading this article right now. 

So as of right now, we don't know if Krypto dies in Supergirl, given that the movie won't be released until June. However, there is some hope. In the comic that the Supergirl movie is based on - Tom King and Bilquis Evely's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow - Krypto gets shot with an arrow, but he survives. Of course, the Supergirl movie could take a different approach than the comic, so we'll have to wait and see. 

Batman might have the greatest rogues’ gallery in comic book media. If you showed your aunt or a random co-worker a picture of Sinestro, Doctor Poison, or Granny Goodness, they probably wouldn’t recognize them. However, even people who have never picked up a comic book instantly recognize the Joker, Riddler, and Penguin. Not only are Batman’s villains some of the most recognizable characters in pop culture, but they also have some of the most tragic backstories and motivations, making them as interesting as Batman himself. With that in mind, let’s break down Batman’s top ten villains.

This list ranks each of the villains based on what they’ve contributed to Batman’s world and the larger DC Universe. For this list, I’ve only considered Batman villains. Lex Luthor and Deathstroke have both had memorable battles against Batman, and they’re both just as iconic as the villains on this list, they aren’t Batman villains. Lex Luthor is a Superman villain who fights Batman at times, just as Deathstroke is a Titans villain who battles Batman occasionally. In the end, this ranking was done at my own discretion. Some of Batman’s villains feel like colorful cartoon characters, but Scarecrow feels like he came from a horror film. Dr. Jonathan Crane might look goofy when he’s dressed as a farm scarecrow, but his fear toxins can bring out your deepest fears, something the Dark Knight has learned the hard way. Scarecrow made his first appearance in World’s Finest Comics #3 (1941), and over the years, he’s gone through many redesigns, including a memorable revamp in The New Batman Adventures, where he looked like the Grim Reaper.

The ongoing epic of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is… well, bizarre, to say the least. The seventh anime season has begun, which also marks the start of a new era for the franchise with a new universe established in Steel Ball Run. However, the ninth manga storyline, titled 'The JoJoLands,' takes place over 100 years later in that universe. Nearly 40 years after the release of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, the manga continues to maintain a steady release schedule.

Typically, new chapters of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure are released in Japan every month in Shueisha’s Ultra Jump magazine. Usually, the issue containing the new chapters is released in the middle of the month before the month on its cover. For example, Chapter 34 of 'The JoJoLands' was released in the April 2026 issue of Ultra Jump, which hit stores in Japan on March 19, 2026.

The next chapter of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga will be 'The JoJoLands' Chapter 36, which is set to be released on May 19, 2026 in the June 2026 issue of Ultra Jump. Because the release date for the magazine changes slightly month-on-month, we don’t always know exactly what the release date will be for future chapters, but we do know approximately when they’ll be out.

The latest movie to get the live-action remake treatment from Disney is Moana. The live-action 2026 incarnation will translate the original 2016 animated version, with Dwayne Johnson reprising the role of Maui. So, when can you plan on the release date for Moana (2026) to arrive?

The Moana release date is July 10th, 2026 in theaters. It has been about a decade since the original Moana debuted on November 23rd, 2016. By the Power of Grayskull! The big-screen live-action adaptation of Masters of the Universe is heading to theaters this summer. So, when can you expect the release date for Masters of the Universe to arrive?

The Masters of the Universe release date is June 5th, 2026 in theaters. The movie is the latest entry in the Masters of the Universe franchise, which originated with Mattel's 1992 action figure line of the same name. While there have been plenty of titles associated with the franchise over the intervening decades, this is only the second live-action outing, after the 1987 movie of the same name. In Masters of the Universe, Nicholas Galitzine stars as Prince Adam/He-Man. Sent to Earth for his own protection as a child, the movie sees Adam discovering his origins on Eternia and laying claim to his true identity. The star-studded cast also includes Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Charlotte Riley, Kristen Wiig, Jared Leto and Idris Elba.

We don't talk enough about how dangerous reading can be for young people... or at least, it is when the book they pick up is the infamous Necronomicon. It's a lesson characters have been learning since The Evil Dead first debuted in 1981. So, when will the release date for the sixth entry in the franchise, Evil Dead Burn, arrive?

The Evil Dead Burn release date is July 24th, 2026. While Evil Dead Burn is itself a self-contained standalone, like the two previous Evil Dead movies, it has been about three years since the previous movie in the series, Evil Dead Rise, was released in theaters. Get ready for Homer's classic story as you've never seen it before, thanks to legendary contemporary director Christopher Nolan. The writer/director behind such movies as Memento, The Dark Knight trilogy and Inception is turning his considerable skill towards classical literature with The Odyssey, featuring the likes of Matt Damon and Tom Holland. So, when will the theatrical release date for The Odyssey arrive?

The Odyssey release date is July 17th, 2026 in theaters. It has been about three years since Nolan's previous movie, Oppenheimer, debuted on July 21st, 2026. The next entry in the Despicable Me franchise sees the yellow Minions facing some of their scariest challenges yet: monsters! So, when will the release date for Minions and Monsters finally arrive?

The Minions and Monsters release date is July 1st, 2026 in theaters. It has been about four years since the previous movie in the franchise, Minions: The Rise of Gru was released in 2022. In the final season of Hacks, comedy is dead... or is it? The Emmy Award-winning series, which stars Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, is returning to HBO Max for its climactic season. So, when can you expect the release date for Hacks Season 5 to arrive?

The Hacks Season 5 release date is April 9th, 2026 at 9:00 PM ET on HBO Max. It has been just under a year since the previous season concluded on May 29th, 2025. In Hacks Season 5, stand-up comedian Deborah Vance (Smart) is reeling from the realization that the wider world thinks she's been retired. This news comes from an obituary associated with Vance's falsely reported death. The X-Men '97 Season 2 release date is Summer 2026 on Disney+. The second season of the popular and critically acclaimed X-Men '97 animated series is arriving on Disney+ sooner than you can say "snikt," but when should you get your framed pictures of Jean Grey out of your sock drawer and prepare to lovingly caress them?

Currently, a more precise release date for the series is not available, with the Summer timeframe coming directly from Disney+ itself. The previous season debuted on March 20, 2024, with its season finale coming May 15th that year. (The show has already been renewed for a third season.)

Currently, a trailer for X-Men '97 Season 2 is not available, although one was shared at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 for attendees; a first-look reel was similarly shared at New York Comic Con 2025. For those looking for an early glimpse of what to expect in the season, one has emerged from the least likely of places: an officially licensed poster for the season available on Amazon, showcasing new looks for some old favorites.

House of the Dragon Season 3, the latest chapter in the A Song of Ice and Fire saga - and the penultimate season of this particular series - is scheduled to arrive for streaming on HBO Max soon. Based on the novels by George R.R. Martin, the onscreen franchise exploded onto the pop culture scene in 2011 with the Game of Thrones TV series. So, when can you expect the release date for House of the Dragon Season 3 on HBO Max to arrive?

The House of the Dragon Season 3 release date is June 2026 on HBO Max. A specific release date for the season premiere has yet to be announced. In the third season of House of the Dragon, the war between Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) and Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) Targaryen over the Iron Throne arrives. Still, the lines of loyalty are never as clearly drawn as they might seem when the A Song of Ice and Fire franchise goes to war, so fans will have to tune in to find out how the cookie crumbles.

Based on the novel of the same name by Marissa Stapley, Lucky Season 1 starring Anna Taylor-Joy is coming to Apple TV soon. The star-studded series also features the likes of Annette Bening and Timothy Olyphant and is produced by Reese Witherspoon. The Lucky Season 1 release date is July 15th, 2026 on Apple TV. Lucky is the story of the titular character (Taylor-Joy), a young woman who manages to pull off a heist with her husband, Cary (Drew Starkey). The situation is further complicated when she discovers that a lottery ticket she impulsively purchased is a winner. But redeeming the winnings means she'll be arrested for her crimes. The cast also includes Bening as mob leader Priscilla and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor as Agent Billie Rand.

Legally Blonde, starring Reese Witherspoon, originally debuted in theaters in 2001, but the movie remains incredibly popular today. So popular, in fact, that Prime Video is releasing a prequel series this spring. Set in the 1990s, the show will feature Lexi Minetree in the role of the teenage Elle Woods. So, when can you plan on the arrival of the release date for Elle Season 1 on Prime Video?

The Elle Season 1 release date is July 1st, 2026 on Prime Video. It has been a been a quarter of a century since the debut of the original movie. The first season of Elle will consist of eight episodes, and the show has already been renewed for a second season ahead of its release. Have you noticed an increase in rain-scented wind lately? No, it isn't a change in the weather, it's just a sign that Spider-Noir has almost arrived. The Nicolas Cage-starring series features the breakout black-and-white character from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. In the upcoming comedic Apple TV thriller Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, Tatiana Maslany stars as Paula, a newly divorced mother, who attempts her own investigation of a crime she's witnessed. The show was created by David J. Rosen and directed by Halloween Ends and The Righteous Gemstones director David Gordon Green. The sophomore season of the hit Netflix video game adaptation anime Devil May Cry is heading to streaming before you know it. Based on the game of the same name from Capcom, Devil May Cry Season 2 follows Dante the demon hunter (Johnny Yong Bosch) in conflict with his twin brother, Vergil (Robbie Daymond). So, when will the release date for Devil May Cry Season 2 on Netflix arrive?

In the five months that Critical Role's Campaign 4 has been running, we've been introduced to a cast that's as different from The Legends of Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein as its setting, Aramán is to Exandria. And while every character brings something to the table in a way their fellow players can't, I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I've connected with some of those Aramánians (?) more than others.

That's why I've thrown together this little list of heroes and antiheroes, ranked by the personal opinion of one Critter who, I'll admit, is surely not the expert on CR's campaign 4 that you might be. So with that in mind, check out Popverse's Critical Role Campaign 4 characters ranked, ordered by yours truly, and with deference to your (equally valid) opinions thereof.

Here's where I have to make the clarification - there's no character on this list that I actively dislike, I'm just ranking these based on the connections I have with them thus far. And in the Marisha Ray-played wizard's case, there hasn't been that much opportunity to connect so far, as the Schemers' time in the spotlight has yet to come to pass (as of this writing). I do love Murray's character design, though, and I saw more than a few cosplayers absolutely nailing it at this year's Emerald City Comic Con.

The midwest's premiere pop culture event is just a few days away as of this writing, and if you're heading to C2E2 2026 like we are, then you should have your list of must-see panels ready to go. That said, if you are also a procrastinating doofus like we are, then you might not have that list ready to go just yet. And in this regard, we humbly offer assistance from one procrastinator to another.

So with the admission that these are our personal picks for top panels, and that you, dear reader, are welcome to disagree, here are Popverse's prime events happening in Chicago this year.

Just because it's Day One of the convention doesn't mean the panels aren't next level! In fact, that's kinda literal here, as both the cast of Uncharted (that is, Nolan North, Emily Rose, and Richard McGonagle) are going to be on stage, followed swiftly by the debut of the Exquisit Corpses card game. It's a regular player's paradise.

Chicago's premiere comic book event is, of course, C2E2 2026, and if you don't believe us, just look at the names of the comic artists in attendance. Er, actually, prepare yourself before you do that. See, the C2E2 Artist Alley list is an absolute mind-melter of comics talent from across the industry, and if you don't already have favorites picked out, it could be easy to get overwhelmed.

C2E2 2026 is almost here, and already, my wallet is begging me to leave it at home. Well, sorry, pal, I'm the one responsible for putting the money in you, and I'll damn well be the last say in when it gets taken out. 

Even so, what's going to be difficult about this convention, as with every year, is choosing where to spend that money. Which of the convention's many exhibitors, I ask myself, gets to divide up the very paycheck I get for writing this kind of thing? I don't mean to presume, but I can't help but wonder if you're asking yourself the same question as you prep for Chicago's premiere pop culture event.

That's why we've put together a list of Popverse's top C2E2 exhibitors for 2026. It's all just our opinions, of course, but if you're looking to put your wallet through the same kind of torture as mine and need a place to start, we'd be honored if you used our suggestions.

The C2E2 Main Stage moved to an even bigger room after back-to-back years of full houses, but it'll never be enough to match the demand to watch the stars gathered for the fans around the world. It's a good thing, then, that Popverse is filming it all for posterity.

With King Conan officially in development, interest in the Conan franchise is surging again — making this the perfect time to revisit all the Conan movies in order. The movie will be the fourth official Conan the Barbarian movie based on Robert E. Howard’s classic pulp hero, but the sixth Conan movie in total. Want to know more? Technically, Red Sonja isn’t a Conan movie, as Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a character called Kalidor, instead of Conan… but he’s really Conan. The different name comes from a rights conflict, as Universal Pictures officially owned the license for the Conan character. Meanwhile, She is Conann is a European revisionist take on the character that recasts Conan as Conann, a female warrior at different stages of her life. As the title of the movie might suggest, it’s also sidestepping copyright concerns by changing the name of its hero.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s two outings as Conan were originally intended as a trilogy; a third movie, Conan the Conqueror, was planned for 1987 but fell apart due to producers being unable to come to terms with Schwarzenegger for a third movie; the star filmed Predator instead.

Magic: The Gathering cards may be made from cardboard, but some are worth more than their weight in gold, and then some.  

Previously, we've covered the most expensive Final Fantasy x Magic: The Gathering cards and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Magic: The Gathering cards, but what about the most expensive MTG cards, period? To find out, we cast our net wide and used TCGPlayer to look up the MTG singles with the highest market price on the site, at the time of writing. Given the nature of the game (and the fact that new sets are coming out every couple of months or so), this list is subject to change at any moment.

The 98th Academy Awards take place on March 15, 2026, celebrating the best of the past 12 months of cinema. With features including Sinners, One Battle After Another, Hamnet, and Sentimental Value amongst the nominees, there’s no denying that it’s been a great year — but if you’ve missed any of this year’s big films, here’s a guide to where you can stream them ahead of the March 15 2026 Academy Awards ceremony.

Unlike other heroes in Marvel Comics (looking at youse, my X-Men), Daredevil hasn't had that many costumes over the years. This makes sense, though, considering Matt Murdock's intense sensory abilities. If you're at all sensitive to fabric, you'll know exactly what I mean, and I would imagine that Matt wouldn't be able to be his best as Daredevil if his suit felt weird on his skin. He's got enough on his mind!

As Popverse's resident Daredevil expert, I combed my memory banks and pulled together a list of the very best Daredevil costumes from Marvel Comics, movies, TV shows, and video games. Admittedly, Ben Affleck's Daredevil costume didn't make the list, as he looked like he had half a latex balloon vacuum-sealed to his head (ouch!) in the 2003 movie. But read on below to take a look at the Man (and Woman!) Without Fear's best looks ahead of the release of Daredevil: Born Again season 2. 

Daredevil first donned a black suit in the 1990s, but this design was perfected by artist Ron Garney in his run with writer Charles Soule on Daredevil, beginning in 2015. What makes Garney's black Daredevil suit the superior one is its red details and the literal daredevil-inspired (like Evil Knievel daredevil) insignia on his chest. DD sports knee-high red lace-up combat boots, a red belt, and red gloves, which creates a better sense of color balance in the suit, breaking it up into constituent parts instead of letting Matt drown in a sea of black. Daredevil is all about acrobatics, and bringing attention to his feet and hands with red boots and gloves makes him pop more on the page. I'm a bit sad to see that Daredevil: Born Again season 2 isn't using this particular black suit. 

Families are always complicated, but the Forgers are even more complicated than most. The Spy x Family heroes consist of a spy on a mission for world peace, an assassin trying to blend in with normal people, and a young psychic girl who loves peanuts. Oh, and their dog, who can see the future. Every Spy x Family chapter explores more of their unusual family dynamic in this action-comedy manga. Unlike manga like One Piece or Dan Da Dan, Spy x Family has had a pretty surprisingly inconsistent release schedule, considering its popularity. New chapters arrive on a vaguely monthly schedule, but sometimes they are every two weeks. However, Spy x Family creator Tatsuya Endo often uses quick two- or three-page chapters to avoid missing a deadline, which can impede the pacing of the manga. Thankfully, the more relaxed Spy x Family release schedule generally allows for a better story overall.

The most recent chapter of Spy x Family was 132, which came out on April 12, 2026. The next chapter will be Spy x Family 133. Currently on the Shonen Jump app, the release date for Spy x Family 133 will be on April 26, 2026. However, it is possible that there will be a delay. We'll keep an eye out and update here if the Spy x Family 133 release date changes.

One of the biggest shonen manga out right now is Gachiakuta, a dark fantasy, dystopian story that was adapted into one of the biggest anime of 2025. If fans don’t want to wait until the second season of the anime airs to find out what happens to Rudo and his allies in The Pit, they can always check out the manga by Kei Urana. With new manga chapters out most weeks, the Gachiakuta release schedule is pretty straightforward to follow.

In general, Gachiakuta follows a weekly release schedule, with new chapters being released every Tuesday. Occasionally, such as in early 2026, the Gachiakuta manga goes on hiatus so that the series creator, Kei Urana, can recover from some health issues. Currently, new Gachiakuta chapters come out weekly on Tuesdays.

The most recent chapter of Gachiakuta was chapter 165, which was released on April 14, 2026. As the series has returned from its brief hiatus, new chapters are expected to be released every Tuesday unless there is another reason for a delay. The next chapter should be Gachiakuta chapter 166 on April 21, 2026.

When Ted Lasso debuted on Apple TV+ in 2020, the Jason Sudeikis comedy show courted an entire fanbase built around their commitment to "believe." Now, six years later, the show is set to return with the release of Ted Lasso Season 4 this summer. If you're here, I'm sure you're fully prepared to park yourself in front of the tube to watch Ted Lasso Season 4, so let's get on with everything you need to know about what's to come for the Apple TV+ series. 

According to a press release from Apple TV+, the plot of Ted Lasso season 4 is as follows: "In season four, Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would."

No, Jamie Tartt will not be in Ted Lasso season 4. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. Deadline notes that Jamie Tartt actor Phil Dunster's absence from season 4 is due to scheduling conflicts from Dunster taking a "series regular role on a new HBO comedy." That HBO comedy is Rooster, which happens to also be from Ted Lasso executive producer Bill Lawrence, so chances are if you're missing Jamie this season, you'll be able to enjoy seeing Dunster in whatever that HBO comedy ends up being. And don't worry, Deadline writes that Dunster could "potentially reprise his role in some limited capacity" in the future. 

9-1-1 is a procedural drama that focuses on the lives of the firefighters and police officers who serve Los Angeles. The series, which premiered in 2018, has grown so popular that it’s become a full-blown franchise, thanks to spinoffs like 9-1-1: Lone Star and 9-1-1: Nashville. If you’re looking to get better acquainted with the lives and loves of first responders but aren’t sure where to start, this guide will tell you everything you need to know about watching 9-1-1, its spinoffs, the crossovers, and all of your other burning questions.

The 9-1-1 franchise consists of three shows. The original series, titled 9-1-1, premiered in 2018 and is still running. Stargate is one of the most enduring and imaginative science fiction franchises, and it still has more stories to tell. With a new series being developed for Prime Video, now is the perfect time to catch up on the Stargate universe. The Stargate franchise began in 1994 with the first Stargate movie. A television spinoff called Stargate SG-1 came a few years later, and the popularity of that led to another spinoff called Stargate Atlantis. Since then, the franchise has grown with the Stargate Origins web series, Stargate Universe, and some direct-to-video movies. That might seem like a lot to keep track of but simply follow this release order watchlist and you’ll be good to go.

If you want to watch Stargate in chronological order, simply refer to this timeline. Watching the Stargate franchise in chronological order is almost the same as watching in release order. For the most part each television show and film is set during the year of their release, with the exception of Stargate Origins, which is a prequel. Stargate Infinity is also set in the future, but don’t worry, because it isn’t canon - more on that later in the guide. (Please note, some seasons of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis overlap, and it’s generally assumed that each episode is set the year it aired unless otherwise noted.)

The Avengers are ending.

Or that's what we're being led to believe will happen in Marvel Comics' upcoming marquee event, Avengers Armageddon. Launching this June as a five-issue event, this series is marketed setting up "a transformative shakeup" to the Avengers, and setting up "a new era" for them that hasn't been seen since 2004's 'Avengers Dissassembled' which saw the team broken up (and in some cases killed!) by the Scarlet Witch, only to return in a modern-day updated team framed as the New Avengers.

Veteran Marvel writer Chip Zdarsky (Batman, Spectacular Spider-Man, Sex Criminals) is heading up Avengers Armageddon, teeing off his current Captain America run and into a summer where the main Avengers series will be over, therefore leaving room for something else. He is joined by his current Captain America art team of Frank Alpizar and Delio Diaz (Doomed 2099, Terminus Veil, Time Sensitive) and cover artist Dike Ruan.

It sure is a great time to be a Batman villain. Icons like Poison Ivy are taking over more comics by the day, while The Penguin has been elevated to official HBO mobster status. Even the Joker is... uh, maybe that's a bad example, but the point is that some of The Dark Knight's most famous enemies are ironically getting their time to shine. There's one Gotham goon, though, that is getting a full-on solo movie later this year, despite the fact that, before said movie, some Batfans might not have even heard of him.

I'm talking, of course, about Clayface, the titular star of the DC Cinematic Universe's third official film, and the first of its kind to fall into the horror genre. At 86 years old, Clayface is a rich and fascinating DC villain, and the non-comics reading world is in for a whole new perception of Gotham City once his movie debuts. However, I can understand how some fans might be thinking about his solo film and scratching their heads. How, after all, is this DC character special enough to shoulder his own movie, especially after following the booted footsteps of iconic heroes like Superman and Supergirl?

Watching Rambo in chronological order is not that different from watching it in release order. The only difference is the upcoming John Rambo film is a prequel to First Blood, so it would be the first film on the list. John Rambo is still in production, and as of this writing there is no confirmed release date, but when it’s released just make sure you watch it first.

From Season 4 is nearly upon us, bringing all of its nightmares back into our lives once more. (After all, as shows like Twin Peaks, Wayward Pines, and From evidence, small town America is scary.) Over the course of the previous seasons, From has been building out its own mythology that has fans guessing at every turn. So, will From Season 4 finally provide answers to those questions? We have the information that will help. 

From season 4 will explore the identity of the Man in Yellow, as well as his motivations for being in town. Why wear a color that so easily shows stains, that's my personal question for him. The upcoming season is also poised to address whether Jade and Tabitha's "revelation" from season 3 will unlock the secret for how they can all go home. And finally, will Boyd be able to hold onto both his sanity and his physical health this season? Lots of questions to be answered!

It's not currently known how many seasons the show From will be. It's worth noting that the show was renewed for a fourth season in November 2024, shortly before the final episode of season 3 dropped. And before that, the show was renewed for its third season a few days after the final episode of season 2 was released. So if you're hoping that From gets a fifth outing, keep an eye on the news once season 4 of From starts winding down. May the odds ever be in your favor.

We’re all ready to set sail for the Grand Line in One Piece Season 2, which is landing on Netflix March 10 2026. After the first season seemed to prove to everyone that, yes, anime adaptations don’t have to be bad, the streamer greenlit not just a second but also a third season of the adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s iconic manga. Now we’ve got One Piece season 2 to look forward to in March 10 2026, and it is bringing some of the best moments from the manga to life.

What is happening in One Piece season 2? The first season brought the bulk of the Straw Hats together under Captain Monkey D. Luffy with the goal to sail onto the Grand Line. This dangerous stretch of sea is the most dangerous and unpredictable in the world and is home to the most legendary pirates in One Piece. As Netflix itself describes it, “There, they’ll visit bizarre islands, recruit more allies, and battle formidable new foes as they search for the world’s greatest treasure.”

In One Piece season 2, the team finds their way to the Grand Line at last, and it lives up to its reputation. There are giant whales, talking reindeer, and giants locked in an unending battle, all of which take place in this season, which covers the first great arc of the One Piece manga. Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji find themselves embroiled in a fight against the Baroque Works organization, a powerful criminal group that has set its sights on conquering one of the most powerful nations in the Grand Line.

Gather around, fellow mutants, and gaze upon the most prized cards from the Magic: The Gathering x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover set. We took a look at TCGPlayer to gauge the most expensive cards in the set, based on market price. It's worth noting that these prices are from this time of writing, and can change at any point in time thereafter. 

What all of these cards have in common is that they are Showcase cards from the set with a glitzy Fracture Foil printing. The Showcase cards all feature art by Japanese artists, paying homage to the influence that Japanese history and arts have had on TMNT mythology. They are Ninja Turtles after all. There are plenty of great Raphael cards in the MTG x TMNT set, and the Showcase Fracture Foil variant of Raphael, the Nightwatcher comes in at $280 even. 

A four-day convention can make you lose track of time. But just like Michael Rooker, who showed up late to the Guardians of the Galaxy panel he was a guest on, it all works out in the end — especially when you get into it with the fans.

This year's ECCC at the Seattle Convention Center (both of 'em!) was a con and a half, and not just because it was four days (five if you have a backstage pass like us). Along with cosplayers, collectors, and creators, Seattle's premiere pop culture event always attracts the most exciting publishers, and Emerald City Comic Con 2026 is no exception. As you know, if you're a regular here in these parts, Popverse is going to be walking that hallowed showfloor, and we're just as excited to check out some of our favorite producers of some of our favorite art as you are. But where do we start exploring? That's a question we'd love to answer for you.

Below is a list of the exhibitor booths we're most excited to check out at ECCC this year, which we're sharing with you now. Keep in mind, reader, that these are just our personal opinions, and this list doesn't even scratch the surface of all the incredible vendors visiting the Seattle Convention Center in 2026.  

With two big Bat-and-Spider comic publishers not appearing at ECCC this year, the question of "biggest comic publisher at the con" is very much up in the air, and one of the top contenders has got to be BOOM! Studios. The folks who brought you Something is Killing the Children, Giant Days, and the current run of Power Rangers is sure to be bringing along talent for signing, so even a random drop-by probably won't be a waste.

The death of Kentaro Miura in 2021 was seen as a devastating blow for manga fans. For years, he had struggled to consistently update his iconic manga, Berserk, due to his failing health and the incredible level of detail seen in his artwork. Though he has passed, the story and legacy of Berserk continue as his assistants aim to finish the dark fantasy epic. However, that means that we have a fairly uncertain Berserk release schedule to follow.

Even when Kentaro Miura was alive, new chapters of Berserk were released sporadically. There was no set release schedule for Berserk; new chapters were simply published when they were ready. That trend has continued even after the mangaka’s death. There is not a Berserk release schedule that you can rely on. We just get them when they’re ready.

The most recent chapter of Berserk that was published was Chapter 383, which was released in Japan on September 12, 2025. Since then, there haven’t been any updates to the Berserk release schedule to hint at when the next chapter will come out.

The hotly-anticipated release date for Critical Role's The Legend of Vox Machina season 4 is finally here, but that wasn't the only tidbit of news that we got from Exandria today. In their social media post revealing The Legend of Vox Machina's season 4 release date, Prime Video also teased the first image of an upcoming villain so terrifying that we can't even refer to him by his real name.

Or is that actually just a licensing issue? Let's get into it.

The Legend of Vox Machina season 4 premieres June 3, 2026.  Even beyond that, Prime Video and Titmouse, the animation studio behind The Legend of Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein, have revealed that this season will follow "a three episode weekly rollout," similar to The Legend of Vox Machina season 3. Also like season 3 (and seasons 1 and 2, respectively), this season will be comprised of 12 half-hour episodes,

While that's absolutely a good thing for the industry, it's bound to cause delays for anyone looking for a commission from one of those artists.

Emerald City Comic Con 2026 is just a few days away, as of this writing, and my wallet is already begging me for some restraint. But what are groceries and rent, I ask you, compared to the unmissable comic artists lining the walls at ECCC's revered Artist Alley? From titans of the medium's history to the folks currently making it, the Seattle Convention Center will be a wall-to-wall display of who's who in the comic book industry, and Popverse will be trying to rub shoulders with as many of them as we can.

To that end, we've assembled a bit of a list of some of the highlights of the convention - folks whose work even the most casual of comic shop goers may be familiar with. Bearing in mind that this is just a personal opinion, folks, here are Popverse's list of some of the most impossible-to-pass-up names (and booths!) at ECCC this year.

Longshot co-creator Art Adams has been all over the comics landscape, from Godzilla to Gumby, but perhaps what comics fans know him best for is his decades-spanning career at Marvel. The pencils behind some of the most legendary adventures from the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Hulk, respectively, Adams is also a pioneer of creator-owned comics, helping from the Legend imprint under Dark Horse.

The main story of Jujutsu Kaisen came to an end in 2024 as the last chapter saw the final battle between Yuji Itadori and the curse Sukuna. However, a manga series this popular, with a hit film and anime series already airing, can’t just end. That’s how we got the new series, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. New Jujutsu Kaisen chapters now come out almost every week, and you can read them as soon as they are published.

Like many hit Shonen Jump manga, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo follows a weekly release schedule, which means that new chapters are available every week on the Shonen Jump app and on the Viz website. Because of the popularity of the original Jujutsu Kaisen manga, the series gets an official English translation almost immediately after the chapter comes out in Japan. There are occasional delays in publication, usually to give writer Gege Akutami and illustrator Yuji Iwasaki time to get the chapter right.

The most recent chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is Chapter 25, which came out on March 8, 2026. At that time, Shonen Jump announced that this would be the last chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. 

The fourth season of Netflix’s hit romance Bridgerton is now complete, with Part 2 debuted on the streaming service February 26. But did true love win out at the end of the day? Fans have been impatiently waiting for season 4 since the March 2025 conclusion of season 3, but they may have some questions about what’s to come. The fourth season of the Prime Video adaptation of the Image Comics series is anticipated to tell the story of the Viltrumite War, in which Invincible — AKA Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) — teams with other heroes including Battle Beast, Allen the Alien, and even his anti-hero father Omni-Man (J.K. In From, the science fiction horror series created by John Griffin, a nightmarish town traps unsuspecting visitors and never allows them to escape. The series follows Boyd Stevens (Harold Perrineau), a man who becomes the town's self-appointed sheriff after his arrival at the outset of the series. So, when can you expect the release date for From Season 4 on MGM+ to arrive?

Curious what happened after the final episode of The Handmaid's Tale? A new sequel spinoff series, The Testaments, seeks to answer just that question. So, when exactly will the release date for The Testaments Season 1 on Hulu arrive?

The third and final season of the Belgian teenage drama High Tides is sailing onto Netflix soon. In the final season, the action takes place on the coast of Knokke, with the cast taking a vacation to the snowy mountains. So, when can you plan on the arrival of the release date for High Tides Season 3?

Scream 7 arrives in theaters on February 27, 2026, bringing Sidney Prescott back to the center of the franchise for the first time in over a decade. The latest installment sees Sidney once again targeted by a new Ghostface killer, continuing a legacy of masked murders that has defined the series for nearly 30 years. With Scream 7 heavily connected to earlier films, here’s everything you need to know — from past Ghostface killers to returning cast members — before heading to theaters.

Scream 7 is not only a sequel to the previous six Scream movies, it’s also a return to centering the story around Sidney Prescott, the lead character of the first four movies in the franchise. Sidney did appear in 2022’s Scream, but as a side character as the franchise soft-rebooted around Sam and Tara Carpenter, two siblings in Woodsboro, the town where the first Scream movie took place; she was absent from 2023’s Scream VI. With Scream 7, not only is franchise co-creator Kevin Williamson back to write and direct, but the emphasis is being placed firmly back on Sidney and her family.

We also know that a number of dead characters are set to make their return in the movie somehow, with Scott Foley’s Roman Bridger, Matthew Lillard’s Stu Macher, and David Arquette’s Dewey Riley all making a reappearance through means that remain mysterious; despite this, Williamson has said that the movie is lacking the meta twist of the earlier movies. So… it’s very much a sequel to the earlier movies, but we don’t know how much, just yet.

The time is nearly upon us, my fellow Fans Without Fear — Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 begins on Disney+ this March 24. We've already had a glimpse of Daredevil and Jessica Jones's team-up in a teaser trailer for the season, and it's safe to say that there is plenty to get hyped for. (I personally want to know what Dex is doing in that diner, ordering a milkshake.) So! Daredevil: Born Again season 1 ended on a particularly charged note. Bullseye went to shoot Wilson Fisk while he was dancing at a fancy ball, but Matt Murdock sensed it coming, and dove in front of Fisk, shielding him from the bullet. After six action-packed and surprisingly heart-warming episodes, the latest Game of Thrones spinoff has come to an end. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 introduced us to both Ser Duncan the Tall, House-less Hedge Knight and infallible do-gooder, and his unexpected squire, Prince Aegon Targaryen, AKA Egg. At the end of episode 5, Dunk had been forced to defend his honor in a deadly Trial by Seven, after the wicked Prince Aerion accused him of assault. 

(In reality, Dunk had been defending a woman called Tanselle, who Aerion had actually assaulted.)

The bloody Trial by Combat+ went down in the penultimate episode of season 1, episode 5, split up along with flashbacks of Dunk's life before his curmudgeonly mentor, Ser Arlan of Pennytree, rescued him from a life of abject poverty. Now, the Trial is over, Ser Dunk's backstory has been fully revealed, and you might be left wondering how everything was gong to wrap up before the painful wait for season 2.

The smash-hit Prime Video adaptation of the superhero comic Invincible by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley will be returning for its fourth season soon. The adult animated series, which follows the exploits of fledgling superhero Mark Grayson a.k.a Invincible (Steven Yeun), is renowned for its star-studded cast and graphic violence. For 24 years now, Free Comic Book Day has been a special day where fans can walk into almost any comic book store in the United States and Canada and walk out with free comics... and not stuff on discount, but the greatest hits and upcoming specials that the likes of Marvel, DC, and others want people to try out. It's not just any comic they have there, but over 40 specially-published free comics just for you. 

Free Comic Book Day was originally created by California comics retailer Joe Field, and in the 24 years since its debut, it has grown quickly, becoming a staple event on the comics calendar with over 2,000 comic stores in North America participating, giving out on average over five million comics each year.

DC Comics is full of iconic groups of heroes, from the Justice League to the Teen Titans, but the Green Lantern Corps occupies a very special place in the DC Universe. This interstellar law enforcement agency has been a core part of DC Comics for almost 70 years and has spawned some of the most iconic characters in comic book history. But who exactly are the Green Lantern Corps, and what is their role in the DC Universe?

Essentially, the Green Lantern Corps are the space cops of the DC Universe. Across the universe, they are a force for order and stability, with the wielders of the infamous Green Lantern rings patrolling a sector of the universe at the behest of the Guardians, who oversee the organization from Oa at the center of the universe. Each Green Lantern patrols and monitors a sector of the universe, which spreads out from Oa in a pyramid shape. There are 3600 sectors with two Green Lanterns each, bringing the total number of Green Lanterns in the universe to 7200 (plus a few extras).

Upon being chosen by a Green Lantern ring, recruits are trained to use the weapon and the various rules that constrain their power (which change frequently depending on the writer). Most often, Lanterns are restricted from killing a sentient being, but this rule can be overridden by the Guardians in times of war. Once they are ready, they are sent out to their sector to protect the people of countless planets, using their own judgment to make sometimes difficult decisions.

If the success of books like Rebecca Yarros’ Fourth Wing or the many Courts of Thorns and Roses novels by Sarah J. Maas is anything to go by, romantasy is probably the hottest genre in book publishing at the moment, and it’s easy to see why — combining the thrills and escapist appeal of the fantasy genre with the emotion and, well, other thrills of the romance genre, it’s the PB&J of literature in the very best way, with romantasy able to make metaphor from tricky relationship dynamics to underscore what the story is really about in a way that more traditional romances can’t. Not to mention, adding romance to fantasy gives the reader something beyond the just-created-and-introduced lore to care about as they’re reading. I’m looking at you, all of the bad fantasy books I read as a teen.

While romantasy might feel like it’s only been around — and certainly, only dominating the book charts (raising print book sales for the first time in years in the process) — for a handful of years, its history is far longer, and far deeper than fans might expect. Hell, even the term itself was added to the Urban Dictionary close to 20 years ago, meaning that it was just there, waiting to be discovered by its eager, hungry audience by the time that A Court of Thorns and Roses debuted on shelves back in 2015. (It’s worth considering whether or not Sleeping Beauty could be called a romantasy, considering it’s both clearly a fantasy story and also a romance. You can decide for yourself, but whichever side of the argument you land on, know that someone is likely to disagree with you.)
