If you want to know what's happening in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2, I'd usually just tell you to read the books. After all, we know from season 1 that in their second Game of Thrones spinoff, HBO is sticking pretty closely to what George R.R. Martin wrote in his Tales of Dunk & Egg. Here's what's fascinating, though - in one way, AKotSK will actually be more accurate than the books, because according to the show's lead creative, Martin is sending them Dunk & Egg stories... that haven't even been published yet.

The lead creative in question is Ira Parker, showrunner of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and close collaborator of Westeros creator Martin. You may recall Popverse previously reporting that Parker had some insider knowledge as to the plot surrounding Ser Duncan the Tall and Prince Aegon, but in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Parker revealed he had even more than that.

"He gave me some unpublished pages," he told the outlet, "Actual written prose he found in his files somewhere that he sent over, and we used them. [...] For the deep super fans, we got some extra stuff that — as far as George’s filing cabinets are concerned — is canon."

Yes, there are complete but unpublished Dunk and Egg stories that have gone directly from George R.R. Martin's computer to the writers' room at A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, skipping the whole "publishing" bit of literary adaptation entirely. This brings up a myriad of questions - most of which we hope to have answered by the forthcoming seasons of HBO's delightful Westerosi spinoff - but one of the biggest is whether or not Martin will end up having these published after they're used as TV inspo?

And maybe even more interesting than that - would they come out before Winds of Winter?
