The struggle between the Templars and the Assassin Brotherhood is spilling out into new eras in a bold new comic book series titled Assassin's Creed Visionaries.

Scheduled to launch in November 2023, Assassin's Creed Visionaries is an artist-driven anthonly telling stories across the timeline, adding new faces and new color to the world created by Ubisoft in its hit game franchise. According to Massive, each story in Assassin's Creed Visionaries will feature new Assassins - never-before-seen in comics, games, or elsewhere.

In the first of two stories in November's Assassin's Creed Visionaries #1, a revolutionary fighter struggling during the brutal Brazilian dictatorship of the 1970s is captured and sent to a military black site known as the Torture Rooms. This story is by artist Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire, Batman), writer Ale Santos, and colorist Marcelo Maiolo.

And here is a preview of the lead story to Assassin's Creed Visionairies #1, 'La Bestia':

The second story in Assassin's Creed Visionaries jumps to the near-future, as the Templars have the dominant hand and are seeking to eliminate the Brotherhood once and for all. This story is by writer/artist Stéphane Louis and colorist Vera Daviet.

Future issues of Assassin's Creed Visionaries will include stories by Enrico Marini, Mahmud Asrar, Olivier Vatine, Yanick Paquette, Niko Henrichon, Jonboy Meyers, and more.

After seeing Assassin's Creed comics through various publishers over the years, Ubisoft and Massive Publishing partnered with the Studio Lounak - a company which has been involved with the games for over 15 years - to help steer the direction of this new comic line to make it more cohesive and interconnected with the stories of the games. Lounak was involved to a lesser degree in previous Assassin's Creed comics lines by other publishers, but is now jumping to the fore to spearhead its direction.

Assassin's Creed Visionaries is the first of several comics planned for this new comics line, which will include standalone series as well as new collections of some of the more fondly remembered Assassin's Creed comics of the past (that are sadly out of print).

This new Assassin's Creed comic book line comes as the franchise prepares for its next big release - October 12's Assassin's Creed Mirage - and the institution of the broader live service known as Assassin's Creed Infinity.

Assassin's Creed Visionaries #1 goes on sale this November. Here is a look at the main cover, as well as two variants:
