Avatar: The Last Airbender release date: When is Netflix's live-action series coming to streaming?
The Fire Nation approaches.
Popverse's top stories of the day
- Hannibal wouldn't be a fan of Chicago's local food scene, according to Mads Mikkelsen (but, then again, he's a cannibal)
- Watch: Artist's Alley Asks: Superman or Fantastic Four? Gene Ha, Cully Hamner, Jarrett Melendez, Rachael Stott, Soo Lee, and Tim Seeley weigh in on their cinematic preference
- Brandon Sanderson tried (very hard) to change one character arc on the Wheel of Time show
Rejoice, all ye nations. Netflix's live-action take on Avatar: The Last Airbender is finally landing. And we here at Popverse couldn't be more excited.
If you're a regular here, you'll recall that we've already covered the show's cast list as well as its age rating. But what about when the show actually airs? That's what we'll cover here, as well as a couple questions related to its release. Strap in and enjoy.
When is Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender coming to streaming?
The entire first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender is coming to Netflix on February 22, 2024. While the streamer has experimented with gradual rollouts in recent months, this will be a traditional all-at-once Netflix drop, so be prepared to go on a binge.
How many episodes are there in Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender season 1?
The first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender consists of eight hour-long episodes versus the original cartoon's 20, which were roughly half as long. All in all, the total runtime of the first volume of episodes shouldn't be much different, but fans should expect a bigger focus on the characters and main events over featuring every stop in Aang and his allies' journey.
Will all episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender be streaming at once?
Good news, Avatar fans - the wait for a live action series is fully over. You will not have to wait for each episode to drop, week by week, or for a mid-season break like some other Netflix shows. You can watch them all in any schedule you want, whether it be once a week or in a single sitting.
Do remember to eat something though, if you choose the latter.
