DC makes it official: Absolute Batman, Absolute Wonder Woman, and more collide for first ever Absolute crossover event in 2026

DC doubles down on Absolute Universe with its first universe-wide event.

The Popverse coverage of the ComicsPRO Annual Meeting 2026 is brought to you by Lunar Distribution. Commited to Retailers. Focused on the Future of Comics.

DC Comics' Absolute line has been one of the most pivotal line launches in superhero comics in the past decade. Here at the ComicsPRO Industry Conference in California, several retailers have told us about how the flagship Absolute Batman book and the others have exceeded expectations, with issue sales climbing in a feat that last happened with the initial popularity of The Walking Dead.

That's good news for DC, which, in turn, is going to be good news for fans of the Absolute line of comics. In fall 2026, DC is going to be escalating it to the next level with the universe's first-ever crossover event series. Teased in the briefest of moments here at ComicsPRO 2026, the idea of the core trinity of Absolute titles — Absolute Wonder Woman, Absolute Superman, and the aforementioned Absolute Batman — colliding, along with the other titles in the line, could easily be seen as the key superhero comic book release of the year.

But then again, with a tease so brief, we are left with copious space to speculate. Is this DC testing the waters for an Absolute Justice League run? (The actual Justice League, that is, not the bad guy Justice League that already exists in the Absolute world.) What enemy could be so powerful that it needs these Absolute heroes to team up to take them on?

This won't be the first time the Absolute heroes have met, of course; Batman and Wonder Woman have already crossed over in two issues of their own series, and the Superman/Wonder Woman/Batman trinity have been seen together in DC K.O. — although it was a future version of the characters, and not the version fans are excitedly reading monthly.

Look for DC to tease, and then fully reveal, its plans for the first-ever Absolute DC event in the coming days/weeks/months.

About ComicsPRO Industry Conference

Every year, the giants of the North American comic industry congregate behind closed doors for a closed-door conference to talk about the changing landscape of comics, what they've learned, and what they are all planning to do in the future. It's not a comic convention for fans, though - it's in a B2B event called the ComicsPRO Annual Meeting, and this year Popverse is going there to bring it all to you. At the 2026 Comics PRO Annual Meeting, Popverse will be covering the announcements, the conversations, and the insight from the likes of Marvel Comics, DC Comics, VIZ Media, Yen Press, Image Comics, Skybound Entertainment, and more.
