DC Comics' fall crossover event Bad Seeds sees Poison Ivy take over Batman's Gotham in 'No Man's Land' style "primeval world"

DC’s Bad Seeds crossover threatens to remake Batman's Gotham in Poison Ivy’s image.

The Popverse coverage of the ComicsPRO Annual Meeting 2026 is brought to you by Lunar Distribution. Commited to Retailers. Focused on the Future of Comics.

Batman is no longer the biggest power player in DC Comics' Gotham City, with Pamela Isley (aka Poison Ivy) as mayor and the immortal Vandal Savage as police commissioner. All of that is coming to a head this fall in a crossover event for DC's Batman (and Bat-family) titles called 'Bad Seeds.'

Announced at the ComicsPRO Industry Conference, 'Bad Seeds' is framed to be the culmination of several story arcs currently taking place in the Gotham family of titles, and happening throughout the year leading into the fall. Shown with the announcement is a promotional illustration here by Giuseppe Camuncoli, Cliff Rathburn, and Tomeu Morey.

"Gotham City police commissioner Vandal Savage has declared war on the Bat-Family and flooded the streets with his private, para-militarized police army," reads DC's text about the event. "Gotham's new mayor, Pamela Isley, deserted by her allies both political and arcane, is about to make a last-ditch power play that will leave all of Gotham decimated by daylight."

'Bad Seeds' is described as an event taking place in one "long, dark night in Gotham that threatens to turn the entire city into a primeval world of hostile plant life unlike anything on Earth for millennia, at a time when its greatest heroes are hunted and in hiding." Sounds sort of like the fan-favorite 1990s 'No Man's Land' crossover event, eh? I hope so.

DC has not announced which DC series it'll crossover specifically, or the creators involved. Expect to hear more in the days/weeks/months leading up to the fall.

About ComicsPRO Industry Conference

Every year, the giants of the North American comic industry congregate behind closed doors for a closed-door conference to talk about the changing landscape of comics, what they've learned, and what they are all planning to do in the future. It's not a comic convention for fans, though - it's in a B2B event called the ComicsPRO Annual Meeting, and this year Popverse is going there to bring it all to you. At the 2026 Comics PRO Annual Meeting, Popverse will be covering the announcements, the conversations, and the insight from the likes of Marvel Comics, DC Comics, VIZ Media, Yen Press, Image Comics, Skybound Entertainment, and more.
