The final issue of Jim Lee and Jeph Loeb's 'Hush 2' storyline in DC Comics' Batman ongoing series is now confirmed to be hitting stores on May 27, but the duo (along with colorist Alex Sinclair and inker Scott Williams) already have their next collaboration on the books: a third installment of their 'Hush' story.

This comes after the current 'Hush 2' storyline (aka 'H2SH') was originally planned to start and end in 2025 before the Batman series was relaunched with a new #1 and run by Matt Fraction and Jorge Jimenez. The 'H2SH' issues were delayed to the point that DC relaunched the Batman series while continuing the now-previous volume of Batman to respect the planned finale of the 'H2SH' arc. But earlier this month, Lee (who is also DC's publisher & CCO) revealed that the delays were a result of a medical condition, but that he, as of April 24, 2026, was two pages shy of finishing the final issue, Batman #163, for a May 27 release date.
Earlier this year, Loeb told Popverse (and Emerald City Comic Con) that a second, six-issue Hush sequel would be coming in 2027. And while DC has confirmed that that is happening, corroborating Loeb's 2027 release date for the series remains speculative due to Lee coming to terms with his work/life balance following this health setback.
"End result is no more projects will be solicited until I'm done with the entire project," Lee says. "It's not fair to you all - the retailers, the readers, and all the DC Comics team members to be this unprofessional, particularly as the lead of this company."
So while Lee remains intent on finishing the third installment of the 'Hush' storyline, the 61-year-old artist is working better to not let you down and let his excitement about comics put him in a rough spot.
That said, Loeb has said that May 27's Batman #163 will be ending on a cliffhanger — so enjoy it.
In the interim, get ready for one (and possibly more) 'Hush' related comics, including Batman/Wonder Woman: Truth #1.
