Absolute Batman guest artist Eric Canete would love to return “for more”
At C2E2 2026, Absolute Batman guest artist Eric Canete revealed that he’s been floored by the positive fan response to his work

The full debut of DC’s Absolute Universe version of Poison Ivy took place in Absolute Batman #17, and over the course of issues 17 through 18, guest artist Eric Canete won fans’ adoration for this new look for Pamela Isley. Now that the guest arc has wrapped up, how does Canete feel about his time on the book?
At C2E2 2026, Eric Canete spoke with Popverse about Absolute Batman, and characterized his experience of working on the book as immensely positive. Over the course of the convention, fans were enthusiastic at Canete’s table in Artist Alley, complimenting him on his work in the two issues. “People have said having me do those two issues felt good. Their experience reading it was like very visceral and entertaining,” Canete said. So it sounds like the fans agree that Canete was a great fit for Absolute Batman. So could there be more Absolute Batman for him in the future?
Canete remains open to it. While he’s working on a project he can’t announce the details of just yet (“It’s a great follow-up to Absolute Batman,” he said), Canete said, “If we can find other opportunities so that I can continue to fit and contribute [to Absolute Batman], and fans and readers continue to be excited by my participation, I'd love more of that.”
The Absolute Batman train shows no signs of stopping any time soon. It’s consistently been one of DC’s top selling titles since it was released in October 2024. The future is bright for the Absolute Universe and DC Comics, so let’s hope that there’s a place for Eric Canete in it.
