DC Comics opens the forbidden door between AEW action and cosmic chaos with DC K.O.: Green Lantern Galactic Slam

Writer Jeremy Adams and artist Cian Tormey team up for a DC K.O. tie-in amongst the stars, as Omega-Bam-Man and Kyle Rayner head into the ring for Green Lantern Galactic Slam

Kinda rude for all the epic smackdowns of DC K.O. to be going down on little old Earth, don't you think? We know, we know, that's where the Heart of Apokolips is doing its thing with transforming the planet into Darkseid's homeworld, and we know that there's probably going to be another, Absoluter Earth that gets roped into the titular deadly tournament. But even still, doesn't it feel odd to not be talking about how this battle for the soul of the universe affects, well, the rest of the universe?

Well feel odd no longer, comic book reader. DC Comics is taking the events of DC K.O. into the stars with January 2026's tie-in special issue Green Lantern Galactic Slam, written by long-running Lantern writer Jeremy Adams and drawn by legend of the page Cian Tormey. And get this - not only will the comic live on the edges of the biggest beat-em-up in recent DC history; it'll actually welcome readers into an in-universe cosmic wrestling federation. Popverse has all the down-and-dirty details of the series below.

"As the K.O. tournament rages on Earth," reads DC's official synopsis for the one-off issue, "The cosmos holds its collective breath as the heroes of our planet fight for the survival of the very universe. But the cavalry is on the horizon! Kyle Rayner, in a bid to provide cover for his fellow Green Lanterns, has found himself pummeled across the galaxy and into the ring of…a wrestling federation?! Oh no…oh dear heavens no… is Omega-Bam-Man about to enter the DC K.O. fray?!"

You almost certainly recognize the name Kyle Rayner, loyal DC fan, but in case you don't know who your new favorite character Omega-Bam-Man is or what kind of wrestling federation would even exist in the wide world of DC's farthest galaxies, let writer Jeremy Adams do some further teasing.

"One of the greatest joys about being a writer for DC," Adams said in a statement, "Is being able to add a few toys to the toybox. After introducing W.A.M. (Wrestlers across the Multiverse) and Omega-Bam-Man in the pages of The Flash [In issue #787, comic lover], I've begged to return to the world of atomic elbows, comet slams, and nuclear knuckles until the powers that be relented, giving us this fun, action packed, one shot that includes Kyle Rayner and the epic origin of Omega-Bam-Man!"

Omega-Bam-Man's second foray into the DCU is the latest DC K.O. spinoff announced by the publisher. In case you haven't been keeping track, we're also getting the Batman-centric miniseries DC K.O. Knightfight (launching in November), DC K.O. Fight Month - a series of one-shots released throughout December - and the Adams-penned DC K.O.: The Kids are All Fight, set for next January. In addition, K.O. tie-ins for ongoing series like Justice League Unlimited, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Titans have also been confirmed.

But let's be real, folks - how many of them have atomic elbows?

“In my eyes, professional wrestling has always been a live action superhero world, complete with villains, soap opera, insane powers and the like," Adams continued. (He's not alone in thinking this; let's not forget that DC and AEW are crossing over in their own miniseries, entirely separately from this one-shot.) "Integrating that into the DC continuity has been an absolute slamtastic funfest. So, listen up Bro bros! It's time to pick up this one shot and show the world how much the greatest wrestler across the multiverse, Omega-Bam-Man, means!”

Green Lantern Galactic Slam #1 comes to comic shops January 21, 2026. Check out the first issue's main and variant covers (by Cian Tormey, Guillem March, Ethan Young, Taurin Clarke, and Juan Ferreyra, respectively) below.
