In 2008, comic book artist Michael Turner tragically passed away, leaving behind entire worlds of creations. Now, some of those creations are living on in the form of Ekos, a Kickstarter project from Turner's Aspen Comics, managed and produced by Marvel Studios founder David Maisel. The Ekos Kickstarter launches September 17, but today, Popverse can exclusively share three holofoil covers made from Turner's art that will be offered as rewards for the campaign.

Check out those covers, recently recolored by Aspen co-owner Peter Steigerwald, below.

The world of Ekos is an accumulation of many of Turner's original characters, fused into one high-fantasy world. Vol 1. will focus on the exploits of Grell, an inhuman warrior created by Turner and legendary Green Lantern scribe Geoff Johns, but will also include characters such as Aspen and Grace. As part of the press release that came with the covers, Aspen Comics notes that the graphic "marks the first time these characters have all come together in the same universe."

Ekos Vol. 1 features a script by J.T. Krul, art by Alex Konat, colors by Peter Steigerwald, inks by Mark Roslan, and letters by Josh Reed. Along with the creative team, a host of superstar artists join Aspen comics to create Ekos's epic covers; you can find a list of them here:

  • Alex Ross
  • Joe Quesada
  • J Scott Campbell
  • Francis Manapul
  • David Mack
  • Joe Benitiz
  • Siya Oum

The Ekos Vol. 1 Kickstarter launches Tuesday, September 17.
