DC K.O. to feature guest stars from Mortal Kombat, The Conjuring, The Boys, and more in 2026

The massive DC fight tournament just got so big that it's outgrown the DC Universe

Even although it was already announced as a storyline encompassing not just the DCU but also the Absolute Universe, it turns out that DC K.O. is far, far bigger than anyone anticipated, with DC announcing at New York Comic Con 2025 that multiple characters from outside the DC Universe… or even Warner Bros.’ vast portfolio of intellectual property will be part of the event storyline in early 2026.

As announced at the Jim Lee and Friends panel at NYCC 2025, surprise guest stars in what is being described as a “bonus level” special issue of the event will be:

  • Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat
  • Annabelle from The Conjuring
  • Homelander from The Boys
  • Vampirella
  • Red Sonja
  • Samantha from Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees

The characters will appear in what DC K.O. writer Scott Snyder described as “a big special… something you can pick up and really enjoy on your own” that will be released in February 2026 to tie in with the event storyline. Further plot details and creative information was not released, although Jim Lee joked that he was looking forward to drawing a Samantha the Bear variant cover.

Oh, and if you’re wondering who each character will be fighting to control the Omega Energy of the DCU, Lee did offer one hint: “Who doesn’t want to see Homelander fight Superman?”

DC K.O. #1 is available now. New York Comic Con 2025 continues through Sunday October 12.
