Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Black Canary are bringing Sex and the City to Gotham City in new DC Comics mature-readers series

Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Black Canary are the new Carrie, Miranda, and gang in DC Black Label's Sirens: Love Hurts

Dating isn’t easy at the best of times, but think about just how difficult it has to be if you’re one of the costumed ne’er-do-wells of Gotham City, having to juggle the ins-and-outs of romance in the modern age with, you know, not getting beaten up by Batman, Nightwing, or any one of the many other bat-themed crimefighters running around the rooftops. Or, better yet — don’t bother thinking about it: DC Black Label has a new series about that coming in 2026.

Announced during the DC Comics - Gotham City panel at New York Comic Con 2025, the creative team of Tini Howard and Babs Tarr are behind a new miniseries titled Sirens: Love Hurts launching in early 2026. The title, coming from DC’s DC Black Label imprint — which means that it is intended for readers 17 and older, and told outside of core DCU continuity — was pitched as “Sex and the City with the bad girls of Gotham City”… which, in this case, means Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and Black Canary.

The fact that it’s an out-of-continuity story opens up all-new dating opportunities for each characters — but unfortunately Black Canary, who traditionally has been lumbered with an on-again off-again affair with Green Arrow, and we all know she could do a lot better, is sticking with her canonical beau.

What's the series about? Apparently, "a new serial killer in Gotham and the stress and fun of being an adult woman who loves and loses and deals with stuff like planning a wedding, falling in love," as per the panel announcement. "The book was inspired by books like The Long Halloween," Tini Howard told the NYCC 2025 crowd, adding, "I’ve referred to this book as The Long Halloween for girlies."

Intended as a four-issue series, Sirens will launch in February 2026.

New York Comic Con 2025 runs through Sunday, October 12.
