Unbox a brand new manhua and other goodies from Mad Cave Studios's new imprint Nakama Press!

Nakama Press is a brand-new imprint publishing manga, manhua, manhwa, and manfra from around the world

Here at Popverse, we're always on the hunt for new and exciting publishers to follow. And because there's a hole in our hearts left behind after we read Berserk and Trigun too quickly, we are left to wander this earth in search of other manga (manhwa, manhua, or manfra, we're not picky) to fill the void.

Luckily for us, Nakama Press has come to the rescue! Nakama Press is a new imprint of Mad Cave Studios that's dedicated to publishing exclusively manga, manhwa, manhua, and manfra from around the world. In case you're wondering what all the distinctions are, manga refers to comics from Japan, while manhwa is Korean, manhua Chinese, and manfra French.

Our video producer Ashley Victoria Robinson has made an unboxing video going through all the goodies that Nakama Press has to offer. We're feeling particularly partial to the t-shirt Nakama sent of two cat people reading comics. Check it out below!

Nakama Press's newest book is a manhua from Hong Kong called Indigo, created by brothers Kwong Chi-Ho and Kwong Chi-Kit. As the publisher indicates, "Ella, an introverted reporter for an occult magazine with an extraordinary gift: she can communicate with plants and animals. When her mentor’s mysterious death sets her on a path of cosmic discovery, Ella uncovers truths about herself and the universe that challenge her understanding of life, destiny, and the delicate balance of existence. As alternate forces rise to obstruct her journey, Ella must decide whether to embrace her destiny and risk everything to save humanity—or let the natural order run its course."

Honestly? Ella is living my dream. Not the "decide the fate of humanity" part, the talking to animals and plants piece. Or maybe the fate of humanity piece too... a little drama every once and a while is fun.

Indigo is available now wherever comics are sold.
