The first bit of news out of San Diego Comic-Con this year is news of when it'll take place next year.

SDCC 2027 is scheduled to take place Thursday, July 22 through Sunday, July 25, 2027, as revealed in the SDCC 2026 Quick Guide being given out to fans this week at the convention center. As customary, a preview night will be held on Wednesday, July 21.

With those dates, it'll be the first time in a long time that there is no Marvel Studios movie release adjacent to the SDCC 2027 dates, as Marvel has decided to limit its 2027 movie release schedule to just one movie - December 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars.

The summer 2027 movie season will be busy however, with the Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow coming out two weeks prior on July 9, and Warner Bros. highly-anticipated Minecraft sequel A Minecraft Movie Squared scheduled for release on July 23 during SDCC 2027. Other movies on the horizon by then will be July 30's A Quiet Place Part III, August 6's Jason Statham Stole My Bike, August 13's sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, an unannounced Blumhouse film on August 13, and a Keanu Reeves movie with Deadpool director Tim Miller called Shiver on August 13 as well.

How and when to get SDCC 2027 tickets

The pre-sale date for SDCC 2027 badges/tickets will be on Saturday, October 17, 2026, and its open to attendees of this year's show. A general onsale for all remaining SDCC 2027 tickets/badges will take place on Saturday, November 14.
