Spider-Man isn't just pulling in money at the box office.

After Spider-Man cosplayer William Nicholas Love punched right-wing influencer Jake Lang and the two ended up arrested as a result, a surge of support has come for Love via a GoFundMe fundraiser for his benefit. Currently, the fundraiser sits at $102,000, resoundingly overachieving its original $10,000 goal.

Love, who has become known as the 'Minneapolis Spider-Man,' and Lang were arrested after an incident that occurred on August 22. As was reported in The Minnesota Star Tribune, the incident occurred outside Minneapolis's City Hall, where Lang is said to have appeared with a large sign bearing the N-word. After a pickup truck carrying Lang reportedly drove onto a sidewalk, Love apparently dove onto the truck, punching Lang and forcing the sign he was carrying down. According to the newspaper, Lang fled the scene via that truck, and later both he and Love were arrested.

The fundraiser to support Love after his arrest was set up by Minneapolis native Ash Chudgar on GoFundMe.

"We are raising funds for SPIDER-MAN," reads the crowd-funder's description, "A Minneapolis antifascist superhero. On August 22, 2026, Nazi provocateur Jake Lang came to our city to rally fellow racists to his cause. Community members showed up to protest, and SPIDER-MAN was among them. After letting the Nazi get away, the MPD officers tackled SPIDER-MAN to the ground and arrested him!"

An update to the GoFundMe informed donors that the family of Love, who is only referred to as 'Spider-Man' on the page, "is now set up to receive all the funds we raise directly!"

Jake Lang has been a celebrity in alt-right and conservative circles since the January 6, 2021 attack on United States' Capitol Hill, for which he was arrested and spent several years in prison. After being pardoned by President Donald Trump, Lang has spent recent years staging public projections of white supremacist messages. In 2025, Lang ran a Senate campaign with the promise "to ban Islam," in his own words, which failed. In June of 2026, Lang was, according to various news outlets, banned from Texas after making terrorist threats. At the time of his Minnesota arrest, Lang was in Minneapolis to support Shilo Hendrix, a woman who was convicted of disorderly conduct on allegations of calling an autistic child the N-word.
