It's New York Comic Con once again, and Team Popverse is running around the Javits Center making sure we get all of the most important news to you. And, in this case of some of the more exciting panels, that means bringing you live updates from inside the room. Which room? The room where DC Comics' Metropolis All-Stars panel is taking place on Friday, Oct 13, 2023 at 10:45 AM - 11:45 AM Eastern.
The official DC Comics panel descriptions reads "Superman isn’t the only force to be reckoned with in Metropolis. The top comic book writers and artists working on stories in the city provide exclusive details on what fans can expect in some of the most action-packed comics."
So, it looks like we can expect some pretty exciting announcements about the future of Superman and other Metropolis dwellers. Follow along live below as we bring you everything that's happening at the Metropolis All-Stars panel.

Williamson will also be introducing the Brainiac Queen. "She is very cool. She's very scary and very dangerous. We finally give Brainiac a queen." - Williamson.

We are going to find out a piece of Brianiac's history that we've never known before.

Williamson wanted to figure out what Brainiac is building toward with his pursuit of knowledge. We will find out that he has a bottle city of Lobos.

The second of the Superman Superstars arcs will be written by Joshua Williamson and drawn by Rafa Sandoval called House of Brainiac. It'll tie in with his ongoing Superman series, which has already teased the return of Brainiac.

Aaron says the story is "utterly ridiculous" because it's a Bizarro story but that he hopes it has a darker edge and he's excited to get to write a Superman story.

In 2024, in the pages of Action comics, DC will be showcasing Superman Superstar creators - writers and artists that they admire working on Superman. Starting in January, Jason Aaron and John Timms will be working on a story called I Bizarro.

"I owe a lot here to the late Keith Giffen. I was devastated by the news. If you have read my book at all, you would see that he is my greatest influence. It is just an incredible loss to the entire community." - Starer

The two characters who have had a great friendship are at a crossroads in their relationship about what they want from their lives.

"The premise of the book is that Fire and Ice have really screwed up on a mission and Superman thinks they need some time to reevaluate. So they go to Smallville." - Starer

"We get to see who Kendra is... [with issue 4 and 5] we get more into who she is and why she is the way that she is." - Axelrod

Axelrod liked the contrasting dynamic that the two characters were able to bring to the book.

Axelrod was really happy to bring Galaxy into the book as well so that Hawkgirl could have a friend rather than more characters around her that are basically coworkers.

Axelrod promises fans that she will be defining the Metropolis-style hotdog. It is french fires, chili, red cabbage saurkraut, canned peaches and depending on the neighborhood, a fried egg with a Superman symbol in ketchup.

"I love this character... to be able to pick her up and give her the spotlight was so exciting and to put her in Metropolis was a no-brainer for me." - Axelrod

Jadzia Axelrod is up next to speak about Hawkgirl since she is operating in Metropolis.

Williamson says that his editor Paul is extremely protective of Superman and that's very helpful as he's working on the book.

This storyline will reveal the origins of Superboy's tactile telekinesis as it is related to a metahuman that Lex made in the past.

The new arc is finding Superman and Lex working together but Clark is unearthing more of Lex's skeletons in his closet.

"It isn't just powers and punching. It is his humanity and his love of humanity and how he sees the best in everyone." - Williamson

Joshua Williamson is writing the Superman title. He says that writing Superman can be daunting.

Rafa is asked what inspires when he's drawing Superman. He says that its very different from drawing any other hero.

PKJ says that working with Rafa Sandoval has been an incredible experience as well.

"Every story I write is about something I care about deeply... Every story matters. But in writing a story about Superman it's like a philosophical story about what humanity can be... The stuff you write in a Superman story should matter in a real way...Real world stuff that matters, it's not just giant robots." - PKJ

PKJ says that he hates loose threads and this arc will have some threads pay off from past arcs that he hasn't forgotten about.

Aaron says that his first ever comic was an issue of World's Finest featuring Superman and that comics helped him learn to read so Superman has always been a part of his life.

Starer says that her favorite Superman story is Red Son because she loves exploring different avenues with these characters.

Starer's dad had a Superman movie poster in the house growing up and her dad had Superman comics around the house.

Axelrod says that her first exposure to Superman was her sister's poster of Christopher Reeves.

"He is easily the most intimidating character I've ever worked on because I have so much passion for him." - Williamson

Williamson's earliest introduction to the character was the Golden Age version of the character and jokes that when he was old enough to start buying his own comics, DC decided to kill Clark.

For Sandoval, he finds Superman to be motivational because he's so aspirational.
