Disney+ drops the first look at The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

Run, Kevin Bacon, run while you still can!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Rocket.

The first trailer for Disney+’s The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special has debuted, showing the fan-favorite MCU characters — and a very particular, unlikely, special guest that we’ll get to in a moment — getting into the spirit of the season in a fashion that feels at once very Hallmark Channel and very James Gunn at the same time.

Alongside Guardians regulars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillen, Pom Klementieff, and Sean Gunn — not to mention the voices of Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper, as Groot and Rocket, respectively — the special features the MCU debut of none other than Kevin Bacon, an actor who’s been referenced more than once during the Guardians movies, and… apparently… the perfect Christmas gift for Peter Quill, as he mourns the loss of Gamora.

Shot during the production of next year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is written and directed by James Gunn, and considered by Gunn and Marvel Studios alike to be an epilogue to Phase 4 of the MCU, as well as a lead-in to Guardians Vol. 3. The special is scheduled to debut on Disney+ November 25.

If you feel like you need a reminder what the Guardians have been up to inside the MCU lately, we’ve got one for you right here. Think of it as an early holiday gift.
