NYCC 2021 | Critics Choice Super Awards: Debating The Year’s Best Genre Shows and Films

Genre Storytelling is the heart and soul of the entertainment business. Yet when it comes to awards season, those very movies and TV shows that have devoted audiences worldwide are often overlooked. It’s been that way for too long. Neither Alfred Hitchcock, nor Stanley Kubrick ever won an Oscar as directors. The Critics Choice Awards have long wanted to find a way to address this. The “Super” Awards have been launched so that those devoted to genre movie-making and TV production; from thrillers to horror, from action movies to science-fiction, finally get the recognition they truly deserve. Panelists from some of the leading entertainment media outlets will discuss buzzworthy TV shows and movies that are leading contenders for the next installment of the CCA Super Awards.
