What do the Critical Role Campaign 4 characters smell like? Sam Reigel knows
Rumors from an unnamed source (kidding, it was Aabria Iyengar) suggested Riegel's Wiccander Halovar might smell like Davidoff Cool Water in Critical Role Campaign 4. Popverse investigated.

We know that everybody has big questions about Critical Role Campaign 4. Who is sitting at which of the three mini-tables? What threats await our heroes in the mysterious shadows of Aramán? And yet, we feel that a question people are paying not enough attention to is one posed by castmember Aabria Iyengar to Sam Riegel on Instagram. Namely, does Riegel's character, Wiccander Halovar, smell like Davidoff Cool Water?
Well question no longer, fellow Critter. We can tell you.
See, Popverse was able to sit down with both Iyengar and Rigel recently (along with Laura Bailey, Robbie Daymond, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, and Alexander Ward), and get the answer to this pressing concern from the source itself. Well, sort of. Riegel actually didn't know what Davidoff Cool Water was, at first. But after a quick Google, the actor found the cologne and noted its visual similarities to his Campaign 4 avatar, responding to our question:
"Let's say, yes, he definitely does."
Hell yeah! We consider this a huge win for investigative journalism. But Riegel wasn't quite done talking about Wicks's mystical aroma. Or for that matter, the other characters'...
"My character is a fancier lad," continued the actor, "And probably smells better than certain Robbie [Daymond]'s character. I imagine my character smells better than 11 of the 13 players."
Before we could even get the words out, fellow castmate Aabria Iyengar is asking the obvious next question.
"Name the ones he smells better than!" she said.
"I feel like Thimble probably smells pretty good," Riegel answered, referring to Laura Bailey's pixie-like character, "Like magical fairy dust."
"I feel like Murray would smell good," announced the (slightly offended?) Robbie Daymond, referencing Marisha Ray's character, "I feel like it would be a lot of like leather, a lot of herbs and Spice."
"She'd probably be the type of person," confirmed Ray, "That has a nice oil but doesn't put on deodorant. You know those people?
Laura Bailey interjected to say that Liam O'Brien's Halandil Fang "would probably smell pretty good too," and Alex Ward proffered that Matt Mercer's character, Sir Julien Davinos, would also have a pleasant aroma.
"It depends on the night before," Mercer admitted, "Some mornings he smells nice, some mornings he smells of debauchery."
Critical Role's Campaign 4 debuts on October 2 on Critical Role's Beacon, YouTube, and Twitch channels. The team has yet to confirm whether the campaign will also be available in Smell-O-Vision.
