Critical Role's Laura Bailey & Travis Willingham both want the same thing from Dispatch 2 - more Malevola Gibb

Bailey & Willingham - who voice Dispatch's Invisigal and Phenomaman, respectively - want to see more of the game's demonic ex-villain, voiced by Alanah Pierce

If you ask for my very unofficial opinion, I doubt it's going to be terribly long until we get the confirmation of a Dispatch 2. The Critical Role-produced superhero satire was one of the biggest gaming breakouts of 2025, and fans have been buzzimg ever since the last episode dropped about what they were envisioning for a (still unconfirmed) sequel. In fact, some of those fans are the very people who worked on the game.

And the way they tell it, actors Laura Bailey and Travis Willingham want the same thing from Dispatch 2, albeit for different reasons.

The OG Critical Rolers, Mighty Nein stars, and real-life power couple recently sat down with ComicBook.com to discuss their hopes for a new game, and both of their wishlists had one name at the top: Malevola Gibb. In case you're not a Dispatch player, Malevola is a reformed(ish) ex-criminal with demonic origins. Voiced by Alanah Pierce, Malevola is a breakout star in a game full of breakout stars, and neither Bailey or Willingham are immune to her Hellish charms.

"I want to see Malevola and Punch-Up get into it," Willingham said, referring to a fellow baddie-turned-supe, "I want to see a little bit of their origins. I love the little tastes that we got. I want to see where they came from. What led them to the SDN in the first place?"

Bailey, meanwhile, wants less of Malevola as a fighter, and more as a lover.

"I want to see a Malevola/Sonar romance," says Bailey, "I want it so bad."

Again, folks, I have to remind you that this conversation is entirely hypothetical, and will be until Developer AdHoc makes an official announcement that the sequel season of the game is happening. Still, for all us Malevola fans out here, it's nice to know that she'll be a big part of that conversation if it happens.

(When it happens?)

With two animated series on Prime Video, Campaign 4 in full swing, and so much more Exandrian lore to come, Critical Role is showing no signs of slowing down. That's why the adventuring party at Popverse are here to bring you everything we can from those nerdy-ass voice actors & Bo., including:

...and much, much more. Roll initiative, player. Magic awaits.
