Some Final Fantasy VII fans tell Aerith actor Briana White that she's playing the game wrong in her livestreams, but she wants to date Tifa in-game

There’s no wrong way to play Final Fantasy VII Remake. When you play the action role-playing game, you control the choices your character makes, including their romantic storyline. However, some fans have their own idea about what the “right way” to play is. Briana White, who plays Aerith in the game, has livestreamed her playthroughs, and she’s received tons of messages from players telling her that she’s playing incorrectly.

“When I’m streaming, I have people that are so panicked about the choices that I’m making that might lead me to go on the date with Tifa by accident,” White says during a panel at Florida Supercon. “They’ll DM me on Instagram saying, ‘Don’t make this choice, because you’ll have to date Tifa.’ I would love to go on a date with Tifa. They just want me to experience my role, and I’m like, ‘Okay, yes, fair.’ I’m pretty sure I’ll get Aerith in my playthrough, but you never know.”

In other words, let people find their own Final Fantasy journey without you interfering. And don’t tell an actress she’s playing her own game wrong.

Besides, there’s nothing wrong with dating Tifa.

Here's how to play the Final Fantasy games in order.
