Bringing Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 to Nintendo Switch 2 is something Rockstar's go-to Switch port company is "eager" to do
Virtuos has made some of the most impressive ports in history, including bringing Rockstar Games' L.A. Noir to the Switch.

We’re not the only people who have been impressed with what the Switch 2 plays like on handheld mode. Virtuos, which has worked with Rockstar Games in the past to port LA Noir to the Switch, is eager to work with the company again in the future to bring titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 to the Nintendo Switch.
During a recent interview, Andy Fong was asked which Rockstar titles they’d like to see ported to the Switch in the future. Fong is technical director at Virtuos, the company that ported L.A. Noir to the Switch back in 2017. More impressively, they also ported Neir: Automata to the Switch, which was nothing short of wizardry on their part. But which games does the company think could have new life on the Nintendo console?
According to Fong, the Virtuos “team is eager to adapt Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 for the Nintendo Switch. We’re personally big fans and believe those games can shine again on the Switch, delighting even more players.”
Granted, everyone’s eyes are firmly on November, when Grand Theft Auto 6 finally gets released to the masses. However, we wouldn’t mind taking GTA 5 for another spin; considering that it has become one of the most profitable games in history, we wouldn’t be surprised if they gave it one more release before finally retiring it to pasture.
