Let's Play: Everdell Emerland, the cozy city-builder from Tycoon Games

Popverse got a sneak peek at Emerland, the latest entry into the Everdell series of board games from Tycoon Games. Join us as we manage our resources, assign jobs to our critters, and built out a jungle city

This article is brought to you by Tycoon Games, coinciding with the upcoming release of Everdell Emerland.

Cozy gaming isn't just limited to your screens - case in point, the best-selling Everdell board games from Tycoon. A combination of resource management, city building, and absolutely adorable little anthropomorphic characters, Everdell has set games in autumnal villages, frosty outposts, and now, a tropical rainforest climate. That last game would be the upcoming Everdell Emerland, and at PAX Unplugged, I got a sneak peek at the brand new project.

The third entry into the "Edge of the Map" game series, Emerdale, first appeared on the scene via a wildly successful Kickstarter that ran until December of 2025. But at PAX, I got to hear about the board game from none other than Dan Yarrington, the founder and CEO of Tycoon Games. And not only was Dan kind enough to share some background info, but was even gracious enough for a quick playthrough with your humble (and mostly clueless) staff writer. You can watch the video below.

Build your own cozy jungle village with Everdell Emerland, available wherever you buy games in July 2026.
