Chances are, if you play Magic: The Gathering, you're a collector. Likewise, if you're a fan of Spider-Man comics, or of Marvel Comics in general, you're probably cut from the same cloth as Magic players. After all, both groups are familiar with the concept of variants. Now, with Magic: The Gathering's Spider-Man crossover set, you'll get the chance to collect the famed Infinity Stones from Marvel Comics, beginning with the Soul Stone.

In a video aptly titled, GET US MORE CARDS WITH SPIDER-MAN!!!, the team behind the Spider-Man crossover gave us a look at the Soul Stone card included in the set. And thanks to commentary provided by executive producer Max McCall and MTG head designer Mark Rosewater, we've gotten a better look at what the future holds for MTG's collaborations with Marvel. "We like to do fun, collectible things. And so we said, 'Okay, we're doing the Marvel Universe, is there something cool to collect, something that's hard to collect but something that's really exciting?' And we said, 'THERE IS!'" before revealing the Soul Stone card.

"We know it doesn't make sense to do just one Infinity Stone. People have certain expectations around being able to get them all and doing something cool with them. We will certainly pay off everybody's expectations in that vein," McCall said, before stating that, "We're working with Marvel on multiple sets."

So, given what Rosewater and McCall have said, it appears that the Infinity Stones are going to be sprinkled through the upcoming crossover sets that MTG has planned with Marvel. Elsewhere, on his Tumblr, Rosewater confirmed that there will be Marvel-themed Commander decks in the future. Lots to look forwards to, and start saving your coins, True Believers!
