Did you think Wizards of the Coast and Marvel had come to the end of the road in terms of collaboration? Think again, because there's another Marvel Universes Beyond set that will be released in 2026.

Mark Rosewater, a game designer at Magic: The Gathering shared on his blog that there will be an "unnamed Marvel set" releasing in 2026. This, of course, comes on the heels of Magic: The Gathering x Marvel's Spider-Man that will be released on September 26, 2025.

Previously, Magic: The Gathering had done a Secret Lair drop based around specific Marvel Comics characters like Wolverine, Storm, Iron Man, Black Panther, and Captain America. But that was a far cry from doing a fully fleshed-out Universes Beyond set like the upcoming Marvel's Spider-Man set.

Since MTG's Marvel Secret Lair drop hit mainly the Avengers and X-Men corners of the Marvel Universe, what could next year's unnamed Marvel set focus on? Personally, if Wizards of the Coast wants me to release all my inhibitions and feel the rain on my skin as I drop insane amounts of money on shiny cardboard, they would do a Thor set featuring artwork by Tula Lotay, Tran Nguyen, Esad Ribić, Rod Reis, Alex Ross, Peach Momoko, and Michael and Laura Allred. But given that my personal sensibilities rarely align with corporate bottom lines, I wouldn't be surprised if the upcoming Marvel Universes Beyond set was something Fantastic Four-related.

Given the aggressive release schedule for Magic: The Gathering, we will find out in due time.

You don't need to beat the game to prepare for the next one—here are all the major new and upcoming games coming our way.
