Ever wanted to defeat a foe with nothing but the power of Steve Ditko? Neither have I, but we live in a world now where that’s possible. If you’re more of a Sara Pichelli fan yourself, then fear not. Magic: The Gathering x Marvel’s Spider-Man crossover set utilizes artwork from across various eras of Spider-Man. So you truly CAN choose your fighter.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, fans got a look at the upcoming Universes Beyond set. And I can tell you that the covers of books like The Amazing Spider-Man #1 and Spider-Man #1 (the Miles Morales cover by Sara Pichelli from 2016) have been turned into Magic: The Gathering cards, with the design team even basing the graphic design for the cards around the original fonts used on the covers. We love a bit of trans-media synergy, eh? Take a look at some of the cards below.

Though at the same time, if Zdarsky’s artwork were to be reprinted for a game owned by Hasbro, I would immediately re-purchase Zdarsky’s creator-owned series, Public Domain).
