Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld will be joining your Marvel Rivals lobbies soon, but go easy on him

Will Rob Liefeld be playing Healpool, DPSpool, or Tankpool in Marvel Rivals?

Since Deadpool joined the fray in Marvel Rivals, it was only a matter of time before his co-creator, artist Rob Liefeld, joined in on the fun, too. In case you've been living under a rock (I'm not judging; times have been tough), Marvel Rivals is a free-to-play, team-based hero shooter game on PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows featuring the characters and lore of Marvel Comics. If you've ever heard of Overwatch, Marvel Rivals is like that, but with a third-person perspective instead of first-person.

On TikTok, Liefeld posted a video of himself trying out Deadpool in the practice range in Marvel Rivals, with pitch-perfect commentary about how excited he is to see the character in the game. Liefeld himself isn't much of a gamer these days, noting in a separate TikTok that he hasn't played video games since the seminal 1997 GoldenEye 007 game, and we're sorry to hear that he missed out on playing Resident Evil 4 when it first came out in 2005. Suffice to say, video games have changed quite a bit since their GoldenEye days, and Liefeld's reaction to Marvel Rivals Deadpool is undoubtedly wholesome. The artist admits that he's "an old man" and that he's "stupid and dumb" because some aspects of Marvel Rivals, like teleporting through the Krakoan Gateways, are a little above his skill level right now. We believe in you, Mr. Liefeld, and for what it's worth, you did much better than Pedro Pascal did when he played the game

But, as any Marvel Rivals player can tell you, the game's practice range is small potatoes compared to the experience of playing in a real match against fellow humans. A commenter on Liefeld's TikTok post wrote, "I thought they were about to drop him in a lobby 😭 ," referring to a match in Marvel Rivals, and Liefeld replied, "Stay tuned it’s coming😏." So if you play Marvel Rivals on console, look out for Rob Liefeld in your lobbies. Just go easy on him, though. I'll certainly be keeping my eyes peeled.
