Marvel Rivals unleashes a brutal looking Wolverine skin this week based on the iconic Weapon X costume
Jeff the Land Shark is also getting a much less bloody skin in Marvel Rivals this week, proving that all things must be in perfect balance.

When you’re making a live service game, you have to keep pumping out content to keep fans engaged. Marvel Rivals not only keeps adding new characters to its roster but lets players purchase new skins for existing characters. After Scarlet Witch and Adam Warlock got new duds last month, this time it is the turn of Wolverine, who is getting his iconic Weapon X outfit as a new Marvel Rivals skin, and Jeff the Land Shark to get a fresh look in the game.
While Weapon X has been a thing in Marvel comics since 1974, the most well-known origin for the program came in 1991 when it turned Wolverine into the ultimate weapon and gave him his iconic adamantium skeleton. Now Marvel Rivals developer Netease has brought Barry Windsor-Smith’s cover, which showed Wolverine in a mind-control helmet and with scars all over his body, into the team shooter. The official artwork for the new Wolverine Weapon X skin in Marvel Rivals shows blood pouring from his wounds, implying that this is probably the most brutal skin in the game so far.
Compare that to Jeff the Land Shark’s Sunshine Land Shark costume, and it feels like we’re looking at two different games for a moment. However, the diverse cast of Marvel Rivals is why people keep coming back to it. Both the new Jeff the Land Shark and Wolverine’s Weapon X skin will be available to purchase on June 6, 2025, though the announcement doesn’t say how much they will cost.
