Red Dead Redemption’s Roger Clark stole the boots he wore to play Arthur Morgan

When asked at C2E2 2025 if he had taken anything from the set of Red Dead Redemption 2, Roger Clark said he couldn't part with Arthur Morgan's boots

Every cowboy needs a good pair of boots, and Roger Clark spent plenty of time standing in Arthur Morgan's during production on Red Dead Redemption 2. The boots served him so well that he couldn't part with them after production ended, so he "stole" them.

Speaking with Popverse video producer Ashley Victoria Robinson at C2E2 2025, Roger Clark, who played Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, revealed that he had taken a liking to his character's choice in footwear. "We were coming to the end of the shoot, it was five years for me, I said to our director, I said, 'Hey, would it be okay if I kept my boots?' They were the same boots I wore the whole time. And he went, 'Okay, I'll get back to you on that.' I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting that answer... I was like, 'Oh, they might not actually let me keep [them].' So I may have accidentally taken them on purpose on the last day.

Like two weeks later, our director calls me up, and he's saying, 'Rog, I am so, so sorry. I know you wanted your boots, we can't find them anywhere.' And I was like, 'Oh, no!' And then I owned up, I said, 'Yeah, I stole them.' And sorry, that's why there's never going to be a Red Dead 3 - I'm joking, I'm joking."

So while Clark may have stolen the boots, he was going to be given them anyways (though he didn't know it at the time). The same can't be said for Glen Powell, who wanted to keep a belt buckle used by his character in Twisters, as Katy O'Brian mentioned in an episode of Popversations. Production made Powell return the belt buckle, sadly. But who knows, maybe one day Powell will get to play a character in a Red Dead Redemption game, and get to keep a piece of his wardrobe. You never know.
