Tekken 8 unveils its first original DLC character alongside the return of Armor King, more than a year after the game launched
Miary Zo is from Madagascar... and that's all we know about the Tekken 8 DLC character for now.

Tekken remains one of the pillars of the fighting game community. With a roster that includes dozens of characters, it would be easy to simply roll out known characters in every sequel, but fans always expect more. That’s why Bandai Namco has announced that not only is Armor King coming to Tekken 8, but a totally new character called Miary Zo will be coming as DLC in Winter 2025.
Miary Zo marks the first original character to be announced for Tekken 8 since the game launched in January 2024, which is remarkable considering that Tekken 8 already has a roster of 38 characters (40 if you include the two announced at EVO 2025). Instead of future DLC only consisting of existing characters from the franchise or even crossover characters from other games, it looks like Bandai Namco is still looking to expand the Tekken lore more than a year after the latest game came out.
Details are still a little scarce about Miary Zo. We know that she comes from Madagascar and that she is bringing a new stage with her when she joins the roster of Tekken 8 as part of the Winter DLC pack. The exact release date for that DLC hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Along with the announcement that Miary Zo is coming to Tekken 8, we also got an extensive trailer for Armor King’s appearance in the game. He is bringing his flashy professional wrestling style to Tekken 8 on October 16, 2025, though Early Access fans can start playing him from October 13.
