For those who have been on tenterhooks waiting to learn more about Disney+'s new television adaptation of R.L. Stine's classic horror series, you won't have to wait too much longer. Yes, Disney+ has announced that the first season of Goosebumps is debuting on the streaming service October 13.

Want the low-down on everything we know about the new Goosebumps series so far? Here's the breakdown!

What is the Disney+ Goosebumps plot

According to several official releases, here's what we know about the horror comedy series so far: Goosebumps "follows a group of five high schoolers who unleash supernatural forces upon their town and must all work together — thanks to and in spite of their friendships, rivalries and pasts with each other — in order to save it, learning much about their own parents’ teenage secrets in the process.”

The catalsyt for the action? The group resolves to "investigate the tragic passing three decades earlier of a teen named Harold Biddle," which leads to them "unearthing dark secrets from their parents’ past." But beware: the publicity for the new adapation promises it's "scarier that you remember." However with episode titles like "Go Eat Worms," "Say Cheese and Die!" and "Cuckoo Clock of Doom," one thing you might recall are some of the episode titles, since it seems as though each of them will be named after a classic Goosebumps book.

Who is on the Goosebumps creative team?

The new Goosebumps series is developed by Nicholas Stoller (The Muppets) and Rob Letterman (Pokémon Detective Pikachu).

Who is in the Goosebumps cast?

  • Justin Long

When is the Goosebumps release date?

The series will drop in a major way, with five episodes debuting simultaneously on October 13. After the initial five-episode drop, the remaining five episodes will be released on a weekly basis.
