"It's just been a thrill": Jim Cheung on seeing members of the Young Avengers assemble in the MCU

Slowly but surely, this new team seems to be coming together

Fans of Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung's original Young Avengers run, which saw the creation of the young superteam and the introductions of some fan favorite characters (including Kate Bishop and Hulkling), have probably been pretty thrilled about the slow but steady appearances of members from the beloved superteam in the live action world of the MCU.

At this point, it feels like a given that one of the next big teams in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be the Young Avengers. With the big screen debuts of Stature, America Chavez, and the small screen debuts of Billy and Tommy, Elijah Bradley, Kid Loki, and Kate Bishop Hawkeye, it seems like only a matter of time before the YA set up their official team roster (and who knows-- maybe Ms. Marvel will join in on the fun after her big screen debut in The Marvels!).

About the recent developments in the MCU, Popverse turned to Jim Cheung, a co-creator of the Young Avengers, for his thoughts on what it's been like seeing characters he helped create on the screen. Cheung told Popverse, "It's very exciting. I'm hoping it comes together soon. It's just been a thrill to see these characters in the MCU. I hope people will be excited as it all comes together."

We certainly are excited to see it!
