Loki to Supernatural, Avatar to Moana, Drink Your Fandom is here to help fans enjoy their favorites in a new way

Nerds who love tea, New York Comic Con has something special for you!

Everyone knows the 11th Doctor loves fish fingers and custard. But did you ever wonder what he drinks with it?

Likewise, before they go fighting demons, Supernatural’s Sam and Dean like to enjoy a hearty pancake breakfast. But now that their series is over (though never in our hearts), if you wanted to honor them by chowing down on some hotcakes of your own, what’s the proper beverage choice?

For the last 11 years Tea & Absinthe has been toying with these kinds of questions. And this year they’ve brought their answers to New York Comic Con. Their aptly-named booth 'Drink Your Fandom' (booth #1071) offers teas inspired by dozens of different stories and worlds, from Disney’s Tiki Room and Moana to Alice in Wonderland, Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night, or the Loki TV show, whose tea is called “TeaVA”. “We’re nerds,” Myers says happily.

Talking to Myers about his teas, it’s clear how much they’ve thought these things through. Their Supernatural-inspired tea “The Road So Far” is blackberry and maple, in honor of the boys’ fabled pancakes. “But we also mixed in hazelnuts and blackberry leaves,” he explains, “to give it that dark, earthy Supernatural undertone.”

For Avatar: The Last Airbender, the company offers four different teas, one for each kingdom. But in honor of the story, Myers adds, “The flavors also all work together.” And for “Vitae”, their vampire-inspired tea, apple and rosehips are blended with rosemary—“the star is the rosemary,” Myers reveals. But it's also got hibiscus, which gives the tea a fantastic blood red color.

For NYCC, Tea & Absinthe is selling each kind of in bags of various sizes from taster (three or four cups) up to 16 ounces, as well as taster collections of various kinds, organized by type—black; green; non-caffeinated. There’s also a Kawaii tea party pack, “to help you live your shoujo protagonist fantasy,” and a spooky tea party perfect for Halloween.

And if you need something simple, there’s always that 11th Doctor tea. No, there are no fish fingers.  “It’s probably our most straightforward tea in the shop,” Myers says. “It’s an English Breakfast blend with vanilla.”

Like everything at Drink Your Fandom, it’s seems well thought out, and it’s got the perfect name, too, one that captures the show (and the store): “Geronimo!”
