Marvel is delaying Avengers, Star Wars, Spider-Gwen, Wolverine, and other comics
While the worst of the pandemic has passed, the comics production pipeline is still prone to outages - one of which Marvel is suffering from now
There's a malfunction at the junction apparently, as Marvel Entertainment informed retailers on Thursday that several of its upcoming comics will be rescheuled due to what the company says are delays with the printers, delays with the truckers working for the printers, and delays to both the printing and the trucking.
Maybe now is the time to bring back Marvel's '80s space trucker U.S. 1.
Fortunately though, the delays look to be only a week at this point. That being said, there's several major comics at stake including Avengers: Beyond #5, Cosmic Ghost Rider #5, Ghost Rider #16, Spider-Man: India #2, What If...? Dark: Spider-Gwen #1 and Wolveine #35. As well as some variants for those covers, and a stray variant for the Marvel/Star Wars event book Star Wars: Dark Droids #1.
Marvel has not specified the printer and trucking companies at issue here, but Popverse has confirmed that one of the comics being delayed - What If ...? Dark: Spider-Gwen #1 - was printed (or at least part of the run) at the Ohio-based printer Freeport Press in mid-June.
