Great news, Keanu Reeves/Alex Winter fans. Now you'v got more than Godot to wait for.
After coming together on stage for Broadway's latest rendition of the Samuel Beckett classic Waiting for Godot, the Bill & Ted stars have revealed that they're ready to pick up their guitars again should a fourth entry in the time-travel comedy saga come to pass. That is, should it ever happen. Before we get into this, actually, let's make that very clear - a fourth Bill & Ted movie has not officially been confirmed to be in the works.
But when Winter and Reeves were interviewed for a Variety piece published October 6, they gave a big "Yes and yes," response to the question of whether they'd hop back in the old sci-fi telephone booth (it's kinda funny to think about how "an operating telephone booth" is its own kind of fiction these days). And while a reason for their willingness to return wasn't specified, we expect it has something to do with their bond as actors, as Winter expounds upon.
"[Godot director] Jamie [Lloyd] remarked," the Lost Boys star said, "That our friendship, our history together, really suits the play because of the friendship and connection that two characters have."
True that, Alex - one of the best parts about being a Bill & Ted fan is the fact that the movie is built on a real-life friendship. Now, does anybody know if this Samuel Beckett guy is still available? Somebody's gotta write Bill & Ted 4, after all.
The Bill & Ted movies are streaming on MGM+.
