I've got good news for my fellow Robin fans out there: we are finally getting a film with not only ONE Robin, but TWO! Today, James Gunn announced on the site formerly known as Twitter that DC Studios has greenlit a film called Dynamic Duo for theatrical release. The film will feature both Dick Grayson, Batman's original Robin, and Jason Todd, the Dark Knight's second kid sidekick. In keeping with the rich legacy of DC animation, the Dynamic Duo film will feature a "mix of animation, puppetry, and CGI" thanks to the production company, Swaybox Studios.
The script for the film is written by Matt Aldrich, who has a screenwriting credit on the Pixar film, Coco. The Dynamic Duo film will be produced by 6th and Idaho Productions, which is also the production company of The Batman director, Matt Reeves.
Dick Grayson and Jason Todd have appeared together in the gritty live-action Titans show. It remains to be seen how Dynamic Duo will compare to the dour tone of Titans. But given that its script has been written by a screenwriter from Coco, the future looks bright for these two Robins. Let's just hope Jason Todd doesn't go anywhere near a crowbar or a clown.
Not to brag or anything, but New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 17 is where you’ll get an extended sneak peek at episode 5 of HBO’s The Penguin before anyone else. Not to mention, Colin Farrel will be discussing all the limited series’ juicy details with the cast and crew live. Limited Thursday NYCC 2024 tickets are still on sale.
