Newly released Deadpool & Wolverine deleted scene proves Wade Wilson loves Nickelback, and you can't take that away, internet
Deadpool & Wolverine might've been *the* box office success for 2024 (and certainly for Marvel, but a newly released deleted scene dares to ask... can you take me higher?

Don't put down Nickelback around Wade Wilson.
On November 15, Ryan Reynolds officially released the latest Deadpool & Wolverine deleted scene, and while not a ton happens in the minute and 13 seconds in encompasses, there is one thing notable about it. that is, its soundtrack. The song playing in the background of the walking shots and banter between Wade Wilson and Logan is Never Gonna Be Alone by Nickelback; go ahead and listen for yourself.
Ordinarily, that would be totally unremarkable. Unless, of course, you know the history between Deadpool and Nickelback. Oh, you haven't heard? Do let us explain.
The year was 2018, and Deadpool 2 had just left theaters after a decently successful run. producer Fox, however, felt that there was more to gain from their Merc with a Mouth, and thus was born the idea of Once Upon a Deadpool, which was Deadpool 2 recut to fit a PG-13 rating, rather than the original R. The premise of the recut was a parody of The Princess Bride, in which Deadpool would read the events of the sequel film to a (fully adult) Fred Savage, à la Peter Falk. A fully suited-up Ryan Reynolds appeared in the trailers for the more kid-friendly film, leading to this legendary exchange between himself and Savage's character:
That's quite the defense for the internet's maybe most-maligned musical act, and we can't help but feel it's some Canadian pride showing through as well (remember: Deadpool, Wolverine, and Ryan Reynolds himself all hail from the Great North). And if the latest deleted scene is anything beyond some classic Deadpool snark and a rejected piggyback ride, it's proof that that kind of vigorous defense will continue.
Deadpool & Wolverine is streaming now on Disney+.
