So many Scarlet Witch fans would love to see Elizabeth Olsen back as Wanda Maximoff in the MCU. The question just remains of when? Considering that Wanda seemingly met her end in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, who is to say that she'd be able to return for another outing in the MCU?

Elizabeth Olsen shared her reaction to when she found out the true nature of Scarlet Witch's role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness at LA Comic Con 2025. "I thought that I was in an ensemble cast, and I thought that I was one of the good guys. And then three weeks before I was sent to London, they said, 'You're our lead villain!' And I had no clue. And I finished filming WandaVision, I was like, 'Huh, it would've been helpful to know that,' just so I could have pulled the thread through a bit. But I think that the story told itself, and I was able to kind of massage things in Doctor Strange to hopefully tell a different story for her."

The fact that Elizabeth Olsen went from filming WandaVision to then going to shoot Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is nuts. Talk about whiplash!

Olsen emphasized that these larger storylines in the MCU aren't pitched to her - so each project she's in, she takes one story at a time. This is why she was in the dark about where Wanda would end up in the Doctor Strange sequel.
