Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows Henry Cavill's Highlander reboot in delay after on-set injury

Just because Connor MacLeod and Peter Parker can take a beating doesn't mean their real-life avatars don't have to deal with real-life injuries, as Tom Holland's and Henry Cavill's situation recently proved

Sure seems like a dangerous time to be an action movie leading man, no?

It was't so very long ago that we were reading reports of ex-Witcher and Ex-Superman Henry Cavill being injured while training for his reboot of the Highlander franchise. And now, we've just received confirmation that fellow Brit Tom Holland, who has been busy filming his fourth turn in the mask as the titular Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has received an on-set concussion during stunt filming.

The news of Holland's injury comes from The Hollywood Reporter in an article published late in the day September 21. THR reports that Holland has suffered a concussion and that no one else was injured on set, contradicting internet rumors that a stunt person was also removed from set with injuries. Holland's concussion is said to be a mild one, and the actor is taking a break from filming before returning a few days from now.

It's that last part where this story really differs from the situation with Henry Cavill. According to Deadline, the Mission: Impossible actor's injury, which was to his leg, will set production of the Highlander reboot back until 2026. Recently, Cavill himself posted an image of his bandaged foot to Instagram, along with what some fans are speculating is his Highlander hairdo and, far more importantly, a picture of his dog.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters July 31, 2026. Henry Cavill's Highlander reboot, meanwhile, is rumored to be looking at a release date window some time in 2028.
