Charlie Cox knows you think Daredevil is in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but he swears he isn't, really

Don't expect to see Daredevil teaming up with Spidey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

It seems like Peter Parker won't be needing a really good lawyer in Spider-Man: Brand New Day this summer, even when he's facing off against ninjas from The Hand. In Marvel Comics, one of Spider-Man's closest allies is Daredevil, but it doesn't look like this dynamic duo will be fighting alongside each other in the MCU just yet.

In an interview with ITV, Daredevil actor Charlie Cox was asked whether or not we can expect to see Daredevil team up with Spider-Man in the upcoming Brand New Day film, and he had a succinct answer. "I'm not in it, don't ask, I'm not in it," Cox said, shaking his head no. "Unless they put me in after the fact, using computer-generated images, I am not there, I promise."

Of course, Andrew Garfield denied for months leading up to the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home that he was not going to appear in the film, and sure enough, he ended up in it. So who knows if we can take Charlie Cox by his word in this crossover-heavy age of Marvel Studios. Personally, I find the idea of Spider-Man having to fight Hand ninjas alone without any help particularly apt for a character who is practically the embodiment of Murphy's Law. Nothing goes over smoothly in Spider-Man's life, so why should his fights against ninjas?

We'll see the truth about Spider-Man: Brand New Day's cast when the film releases in theaters on July 31, 2026.

Marvel's most reliable superhero has proven he can do a whole lot more than just 'whatever a spider can.' Swing into Spidey's history with Popverse's...

Just watch out for that radioactive blood.
