Grant Gustin was the fastest man alive for nine seasons on CW's long-running The Flash show. The Flash himself shared the love for a fellow Justice League member, Superman, recently, thanks to his new movie.

Gustin, who recently performed in Water for Elephants on Broadway, got a chance to see the new Superman movie in theaters.

"I loved it," Gustin says at Fan Expo Chicago 2025.

He was impressed with the casting of David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel.

"Coming from me, David, I thought he was perfect, he was Superman," Gustin says.

Gustin acknowledged Corenswet had big tights to fill as the Kryptonian-born, Kansas-raised protector of truth, justice, and the American was,y who Guy Gardner describes in the film as Big Blue. Gustin was raised on the original Superman films starring Chrisopher Reeve, Margot Kidde,r and Gene Hackman.

"Christopher Reeve was an icon for me," Gustin says. "He was my earliest hero. But David was perfect. I loved it."

Superman has been one of the top-grossing films of 2025, and DC Universe chief James Gunn recently announced it's the start of a 'Superman Saga' of films.

Superman is now in theaters.
