Ripped from the pages of John Wick, James Gunn's Superman appears to center on the kidnapping of the Man of Steel's dog (and I love it)

A new clip from James Gunn's Superman movie shown on Jimmy Kimmel shows the Man of Steel confronting Lex Luthor over Krypto's disappearance

We all love a good movie dog. It is the year 2025 and my mother still talks about how cute the Parson Russell Terrier from The Artist was. And it's this specific feeling that the upcoming Superman movie from James Gunn is leaning into.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! unveiled a new clip from Superman where the Man of Steel bursts into the office of Lex Luthor, demanding to know what happened to Krypto. "Where's the dog?!" he asks, and when Lex pretends to not know what he's talking about, Superman yells, "THE DOG, LOSER, YOU TOOK THE DOG!" Superman ends up flipping Lex's desk over, and cracking a window with it, all the while Lex remains unbothered.

This clip seems to answer our question of how Superman and Lex Luthor were going to butt heads in the upcoming movie. Of course, a costumed man flying around Metropolis was certainly going to draw Lex's attention and ire, but it's interesting that the conflict we see in this clip revolves around Krypto, who we have yet to see in a live-action Superman film, as opposed to someone else in Superman's circle like Lois Lane or Jimmy Olsen. Or god forbid, Martha.

Hopefully, Superman's reaction to Lex kidnapping Krypto will put to bed some folks' opinions that Superman isn't relatable. Because I think he acted on behalf of dog owners everywhere when he flipped Lex's desk. In comparison to John Wick's reaction when his puppy given to him by his deceased wife was murdered by Russian mobsters, Superman acts rather reasonably.
