Spider-Verse's Tombstone voice actor for Tombstone has been called up by Marvel Studios to play him in live-action for Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Former Black Lightning TV villain actor Marvin 'Krondon' Jones III is coming for Spider-Man - after already doing it in the Spider-Verse movies.

In a further sign that Marvel Studios isn't afraid of bridging the multiverse, it has case the Spider-Verse movie franchise's Tombstone voice actor Marvin 'Krondon' Jones III to play the live-action version of the character in 2026's Spider-Man: Brand New Day. As first reported by Deadline's Matt Grobar, Jones is expected to be part of Brand New Day's filming any moment now, after he just finished up work on Prime Video's Criminal - also based on a comic.
Like the Tombstone character in comics and beyond, Marvin Jones III is an African-American man with albinism with results in the partial or complete absence of pigment in the skin, hair, and eyes. Jones played a similar character in the CW's Black Lightning, Tobias Whale.
Jones would be the second actor to play the same character in the MCU as in the Spider-Verse movies, following Donald Glover who played Aaron Davis in both Spider-Man: Homecoming and then in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters July 31, 2026, with Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse set for June 25, 2027.
