Twilight origin movies are something Jackson Rathbone & Ashley Greene want to do - but they need you to "blow up" Lionsgate's social media feeds
The cast of Twilight would love to do it as much as fans want to see it. They just need the green light.

Is the time right to revisit Twilight? The Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series is getting a sequel series. Dune I and II paved the way for Dune: Prophecy. With the right amount of time, all stories can be reimagined. They can be drawn out longer and in many cases, better. Wicked is a hit because it makes you rethink the story you thought you knew. Maybe it’s time to consider that for the Twilight Saga.
At GalaxyCon 2025 in Oklahoma City, Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen), Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen) and Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle) answered fan questions about their beloved Twilight Saga. When one fan asked, ‘What do we have to do to get a Twilight prequel or a Cullen spinoff miniseries?’ It was met with one of the loudest cheers from audience members. Rathbone stoked the excitement by telling the audience,
“I think you’re starting it right now. Blow up Lionsgate’s [social media], call up Stephenie Meyer and her production company Fickle Fish Films and say you want some more of the O.G. Twilight.
Even Meyer thought there was more to say. Back in 2020, Twilight author Stephenie Meyer revisited her vampire drama by releasing the long-awaited prequel novel, Midnight Sun, 15 years after the original novel. Midnight Sun retells what happened in the first Twilight book from Edward Cullen’s point of view as a vampire.
Frankly, even though that book sold predictably well, it lacked the blood that keeps fans thirsting for more story. They want new material, they want new branches of storyline, and that’s a testament to the world Meyer created. It doesn't necessarily need to tie into anything that fans have seen or read about. It just has to be fresh in the world of the Cullens.
The Penguin showed how deep one could go into the development and world of a supporting character and bring them to life. Piggybacking off of The Batman, the Penguin took background character Oz Cobb and fleshed him out, along with Sophia Falcone while introducing Victor Aguilar to the minds and hearts of the Caped Crusader fans. It was a crime story for the ages and it’s the kind of treatment that fans want to see for the Olympic Coven.
“In all honesty, we talk often about how much we’d love to do origin stories and there’s so much to be explored there,” Greene added. “We’d love to do it as much as you guys would love to see us do it. We just have to get the green light.”
Well, Twilight fans, is it time?
