The life of Obi-Wan Kenobi is full of action, romance, betrayal, and redemption. In other words, it has the makings of a good musical. During the Clone Wars 15th anniversary panel at Florida Supercon, Kenobi voice actor James Arnold Taylor pitched the Obi-Wan musical.

“Ashley (Eckstein) and I have talked about this for ages, there should be a Broadway production of Obi-Wan and Satine. I’d pay to see that,” Taylor said. For those who haven’t seen Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Satine was Kenobi’s true love, who was tragically killed.

“I have heard how much Dave Filoni loves the concept of a musical episode,” panel moderator Julie Snyder joked. “I regularly would ask him for it. I would say, you know everyone’s doing it! Buffy got a musical episode. Where’s our musical episode,” Ahsoka actress Ashley Eckstein said.

“I’m writing the Satine and Obi Wan musical in my head now. I’m so curious. What would be your song? Would it be a power ballad,” Snyder asked.

Taylor’s answer went above and beyond, and he began to perform a Kenobi musical live on stage! “I have the high ground,” he sang in a deep voice. The lyrics reenacted the climactic battle between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. “You underestimate my power! I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you,” Taylor sang.

Taylor then made lightsaber motions with his hands, signifying the maiming of Anakin Skywalker. “Limbless, limbless! “Feel the heat,” he sang.

I wouldn’t expect Lucasfilm to greenlight a Kenobi musical anytime soon, but if they did, James Arnold Taylor is certainly ready.
