250 years before Arnold, there was Naru – and, of course, an unseen alien monster hunting her and everyone she loves. We’re just days away from the release of Prey, the latest episode in the long-running Predator series, and Popverse is here to tell you what we think of it.

The fifth installment in the Predator franchise – after Predator, Predator 2, Predators, and The Predator – Prey is a reboot of sorts for the series, set two centuries before the original movie and revealing one of the first meetings between human and Predator. Producer John Davis has previously said that the movie “goes back to what made the original Predator movie work. It's the ingenuity of a human being who won't give up, who's able to observe and interpret, basically being able to beat a stronger, more powerful, well-armed force.”

The movie stars Amber Midthunder as Naru, a Comanche warrior in the year 1719 who quickly realizes that her tribe is being hunted by an invisible, seemingly invincible force – one that she sets out to stop. 10 Cloverfield Lane’s Dan Trachtenberg directs, with Patrick Aison providing the screenplay from a story by Trachtenberg and Aison.

Prey debuts on Hulu August 5, but if you need any help deciding whether or not to watch, check out our review below.
