Wakanda is going to become bigger than many people expect with the news that Marvel Studios is teaming with Proximity Media to launch a podcast series in support of the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The six-episode series — titled, somewhat unimaginatively Wakanda Forever: The Official Black Panther Podcast — comes with some serious names attached. Hosted and written by National Book Award-winning author (and former writer of the Black Panther comic book series) Ta-Nehisi Coates, the podcast is also executive produced by Sev Ohanina, Zinzi Coogler, and Ryan Coogler… who, of course, just so happens to be the writer and director of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The appearance of the Cooglers in that line-up isn’t accidental; Proximity Media, which is responsible for the creation of the podcast, is a multimedia production company owned and operated by Coogler and Ludwig Göransson, the Grammy-winning composer of multiple film soundtracks, including Black Panther. Amongst its projects is the critically acclaimed Judas and the Black Messiah, which was nominated for six Academy Awards.

According to the official announcement of the new series, the run “explores the next chapter in the story of Wakanda and honors the remarkable legacy of Chadwick Boseman.” Amongst those appearing in interviews for the show are Coogler, Angela Bassett, and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

Wakanda Forever: The Official Black Panther Podcast will launch November 3, across all major podcast platforms. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will debut in theaters November 11.

If you’re not already excited for the next Black Panther movie, perhaps you should reconsider what Lupita Nyong’o has to say about the movie.

Graeme McMillan: Popverse Editor Graeme McMillan (he/him) has been writing about comics, culture, and comics culture on the internet for close to two decades at this point, which is terrifying to admit. He completely understands if you have problems understanding his accent.
