Last week comic book writer Erik Burnham shared on Twitter that his comic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Saturday Morning Adventures was about to release its first issue as an ongoing series.

Fortunately, Popverse's Ashley V. Robinson caught up with Burnham to break down all the Easter Eggs crammed into each issue and Burnham's hopes for the future of this series amidst the critical success of sister TMNT comic book series, The Last Ronin.

“The response has been fantastic. People have been enjoying it,” Burnham tells Popverse, “I've talked to some folks who've had fun anecdotes about watching the show as kids, and I shared mine yesterday about my brother and I playing a Turtles board game and flipping the table while watching the cartoon. It's a nice, comforting wave of nostalgia.”

Here is our full 13-minute interview with Erik Burnham on the future of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Saturday Morning Adventures.
