The Mandalorian theme song shreds in a heavy metal rendition thanks to the Galactic Empire
There are definitely some Mandalorian darksaber vibes to this cover of the instant classic Star Wars theme
While Darth Vader would still take the crown as the most metal of all Star Wars characters, the Mandalorian is a close second and could be vying for that title with a new rendition of The Mandalorian theme song released ahead of The Mandalorian season 3's debut on Disney+.
The Star Wars metal band Galactic Empire have recorded a shreddy cover version of Ludwig Göransson's The Mandalorian's TV show theme - complete with a music video to match. Let's watch, shall we?
"Greetings, citizens of Earth. We are Galactic Empire and we have once again returned to unleash the ultimate sonic weapon: our third album, Special Edition," shares band frontman Lord Sikh. "Today, we unveil the new single and music video for 'The Mandalorian' directed by the mysterious Sith Lord, Eric DiCarlo. Show your true loyalty to the Empire by pre-ordering our new album so that we may rebuild the Death Star and continue our galactic conquest to bring music live to your planet and hometown."
This is all part of Galactic Empire's upcoming third studio album, 'Special Edition,' which will be released on May 5, the day after Star Wars day on May 4. 'Special Edition' will be Galactic Empire's debut with the Pure Noise Records label. The tracklist is as follows:
- 20th Century Fox Fanfare
- Star Wars And Revenge Of The Sith
- The Imperial Suite
- Dark Side Assault
- The Mandalorian
- Obi Wan Kenobi
- The Bad Batch
- The Book Of Boba Fett
- Attack Position
- The Battle Of Hoth
- Victory Celebration
On March 5 coinciding with the album's release, Galactic Empire will be performing a special 'Revenge of the Fith' show in Lilitz, Pennsylvania's Mickey's Black Box venue.

Good cover songs are about finding new ways to retell classic songs. In many ways, that's what the Mandalorian show does as well - and we dove into that.
