Wayne Brady being cast in Critical Role’s The Mighty Nein is one of the best things to happen in his career, according to Wayne Brady

Wayne Brady had been a longtime fan of Critical Role before he was cast as Taryon Darrington in The Mighty Nein

Wayne Brady has done some awesome things.

He’s hosted his own daytime talk show, he entertained millions on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and he’s won five Emmy Awards.

However, Brady maintains that one of the best thing that’s happened to his career was being cast as Taryon Darrington in Critical Role’s The Mighty Nein. Why? Because Brady is a Critter at heart.

“I’ve done a lot of stuff, but it’s so cool to be a fan of something, and then to have the people that make the thing that you’re a fan of say, ‘Hey, can you come and play with us?’ That is the best thing that could ever happen to you in your career.  So, I’m glad to be part of the family,” Brady says during a Critical Role spotlight panel at New York Comic Con.

Honestly, Brady being a Critical Role fan tracks. Tabletop gaming is all about improvisation, and after spending years on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Brady is a master at that.

The Mighty Nein premieres November 19, 2025 on Prime Video.
